We spent the morning hanging with the G-units and Melissa. Miranda came over around 11:30 am and the three of us headed into Robinson Township. On the way there Miranda introduced us to the selfie stick. She had bought so many dollars worth of clothes at American Eagle that she got one for free! I have been on the anti-selfie stick side since they first came out. I am the girl that will walk by you and laugh silently to myself while you're over here looking like an idiot holding a stick in front of yourself. Sorry but it's true. I'm sure people have the same reaction when I wear my fanny pack out and about. It's understandable. They are both ridiculous. So Miranda gave us a demonstration of how it worked and dare I say I was intrigued. By the time she had taken a few photos of us at a red light I was convinced selfie-sticks are the best things ever. Yeah I went from selfie stick hater to selfie stick lover in about 5 minutes. Dustin on the other hand has been harder to convince.
We were all starving and ready for lunch so we went right to Burgatory. I've been hearing from Nicole that their shakes are out of this world which meant I NEEDED A SHAKE. We got there right around lunch time and there was a 30 minute wait. So we waited. We walked around Pier 1 Imports to kill time. And then we waited some more.
Miranda and I both got the Standard Deluxe (natural beef burger, white American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and their house sauce) while Dustin got the Farmer Brown (natural beef burger, over easy egg, maple cured ham, farmhouse cheddar, and crisp lettuce with a dab of mayo). How do I describe one of the best burgers I've ever had? I guess I won't even try. Just know that it was the shit. We all got their fries (truffle garlic aioli) which were not like any I've ever had but were fantastic. Now we were obviously all stuffed by the end of our meal but we HAD to order one of their infamous shakes. So Dustin and I decided to split the Fluffer Nutter Butter. They call them heavenly shakes for a reason. Dustin and I could've died right then and there and been perfectly content. It was hands down the best shake I've ever had. (Shout out to Nicole for the heads up! Next time we're up there let's ditch the boys and just go shake shake shake it off!)

The plan was to go to the Carnegie Science Center up until we heard that the main highway/Fort Pitt Tunnel were closed. Yeah, I've never heard of an entire stretch of highway being closed on a Saturday but it happened. Dustin wasn't too thrilled about taking the detour which I understood but we ended up going anyway. If we were at home and it was something we could go to any weekend I would've totally been ok with canceling but we are only ever in Pittsburgh once a year so I wanted to make it count. The detour took forever and pretty much sucked. However, it was fun to see a Pittsburgh from a different perspective. I enjoyed going through town and seeing all the white trees (What kind of trees are these? They were everywhere up there!). I loved seeing the houses and thinking to myself "How in the hell do these people park or shovel snow?" as a lot of the houses or driveways were on very hilly roads. This Floridian just can't wrap her head around it.
We made it to the damn Carnegie Science Center and went straight for the submarine (Requin SS-481) since it was about to close for the day. I was legit worried that I would have a panic attack because of how cramped the space is. But I sucked it up and went down the small staircase where we were greeted by a man who gave us a bunch of facts. He said the submarine first hit the water at the end of WWII and stayed in operation until the 1960s. The sub held 80 men. That was so hard to imagine as it felt cramped with 10 of us standing around. He let us walk through the length of the sub on our own. The spaces were just so tiny. I mean that's obvious of course but it's just so much more real when you're standing in the tiny hallway looking at every tiny space. I really love all history but this era has always been extra interesting to me. It's just so wild to see how far we've come.
Next up was the sports complex. There was a version of basically every kind of sport in this building. Dustin threw a baseball to see how fast it went. His highest was 55 mph. Miranda and I both "karate chopped" this machine and then a random kid came along and blew us out of the water. Dustin and I raced on a mini track and practiced maneuvering the puck on "ice". There was also a rock wall and a trampoline. It was pretty awesome.
We walked through the 4 levels of the main building. There was a lot to play with and a lot of things I didn't understand how they worked. I loved the robot exhibit. We even embarrassed Dustin by whipping out that selfie stick. I think C3P0 was totally for it though. I loved the miniature Pittsburgh room. It was so cool seeing how downtown Pittsburgh used to look. Also, they had a miniature Falling Water house which we visited last year! AND there were trains zig zagging through the whole thing. So fun!
We selfie-sticked some more outside to get a couple shots of us with the Pittsburgh skyline and hit the road back to Weirton. Thankfully there was no construction in that direction.

Later that night Dustin and I headed back over to Nicole and Blair's to watch the Pens playoff game. Miranda decided not to join us because she had a lot to do at home. We ate pizza (that sweet and spicy is the shit!) and hung out. It was a whole Bud Family affair with Ryan, Big Al, & Donna joining in on the fun. Brady and I played some more. He totally beat me at Memory too! I had to cut it short because I was exhausted. The days of non-stop fun caught up with me real fast. But the Pens pulled off a win which was awesome. (Short lived awesome of course because they were just eliminated from the playoffs last night. Womp. Womp.) It was so hard saying goodbye to Blair, Nicole, and Brady. I mean we talk to them all the time throughout the year but it's even more fun when we get to hang out in person. Come to Florida soon! Until next time buds...
