The End...Maybe
I've been thinking the past few days whether or not I want to continue blogging. I actually said the words out loud to Dustin last night while we were in bed. He was surprised. I think it's because he's my #1 fan/reader/supporter. He told me to "table it for a few days" which I agreed was a good idea. So for now, I will be on a blogging break until I can make up my mind one way or the other.

This Week In Photos
More like the last few weeks in photos.
I'm so behind on posting these.
Inked. My pen leaked all over my wrist pillow at work and now it won't ever let me forget. // My Dwight Shrute bobble head.
Trying out my new fave photo app (a beautiful mess). // Having the time of my life at the beach.
The instructions to the orchid Dustin bought me say it only needs 3 ice cubes a week. So there you have it. If it dies, I'm writing a nasty letter. // Cake pop! Erin brought me one from her sister's baby shower. Seriously tastes like a home made zebra cake.
I had the gray nail polish on for a few days and then one evening I decided to spice it up. Pretty excited how it turned out. Dustin chose the 'flower' border and had this to say when I posted it on FB: "I chose the border...it's supposed to be flowers but looks like zombie hands reaching out to devour your nails." Pretty much. // As I was out on a Starbucks run for Sam, I noticed a family of armadillos crossing the road. Dillo butts!
Just another day in traffic. Tag reads: UDDERLY. What the what?! // When I sit at my desk in the early morning hours the sun blinds me. So of course I whine about it and of course Dustin had the best solution. He goes in our closet and finds the Pens snap-back that he never wears (because he's not into snap-backs. Who is besides crazy teenagers?) and puts it on my head. And it actually works! I look ridiculous but it works! And then he calls me Elmer Fudd all day.
Sporting our new Tom & Dan (not Mot & Nad) shirts. This is the only time Dustin will ever let us wear them at the same time. He hates when couples match! HA! // Just hanging out with my new orchid friend at work.
Finally enjoying that Blizzard I wouldn't shut up about. And looking at Beyonce in a bathing suit. Did not care. Kept on shoving my face! // Dustin thought it was funny that my head was right under this sign.
A crazy storm in our backyard a few weeks back. I have video of this that I have yet to put on Vimeo. // Yoga at home. With Dustin. Also, if the Pens win the Stanley Cup he has agreed to go to a YOGA CLASS with me. Let's go Pens!

Nutella Swirled Peanut Butter Banana Bread
I used this RECIPE which I stumbled upon while scrolling through Tumblr.
I had all of these ingredients in my pantry except for the whole wheat flour (people really use that?) so I used regular flour. It turned out awesome!
Special thanks to my helper. He mashed, mixed, poured and swirled!

Dustin Says
Commenting on Erin's hands free headset at work.
Dustin: You look just like Britney Spears.
Erin: -_____-
Dustin to Erin (at work): Did you do something to your hair?
Erin: Why?! What's wrong with it?!
Dustin: I couldn't tell if you dyed it or if it was just the crazy lighting in this place.
Erin: Does it look bad?!?
Me: *Gives Dustin the look to shut up.*

Flagler Beach
A few weeks ago Erin mentioned that she wanted to go to the beach. I told her I was "totally in" and we started planning. I didn't want to go to a beach that people drove on (New Smyrna), nor did I want to go one that was too busy/trashy (Daytona), which left us with Flagler. Since I used to live in good ol' Palm Coast I know Flagler pretty well. There is street parking and if you go early there isn't really a crowd.
Side Note: This was my very first beach trip with CONTACTS and it sure was eye opening. It was so nice to get to wear sunglasses! Also it was nice to not HAVE to wear glasses if I didn't want to. In the past, I have always just hung out in my glasses or went without them (blindly) and neither is ideal. Contacts for the win!
Erin got to my house around 8ish and between the two of us we had everything you need for a day at the beach. I borrowed Dustin's iHome portable speakers and his new cool cooler and packed it with water, gatorade and fruit. I also supplied gallons of sunscreen. Erin borrowed her sister's umbrella, chairs, and beach towel (which folds up into a bag! Kind of awesome). She also brought lemonade and chex mix. I braided the shit out of her hair and then we loaded everything into my car and were off!
We got there a little after 9 and were the only ones out except for a mom and a little girl. Just us and the ocean. We piled on the sunscreen. I don't have time or patience for a sunburn at this stage of my life. (Oh look, a glimpse at my 82 year old self.) I plugged the speakers into my iPhone and put on our very special Beach Mix. We both plopped down in our chairs and opened up our slushie lemonades and just took it all in. It was beautiful out. Warm, but not too hot (yet).
We had the time of our lives gossiping, playing frisbee/football, walking out into the water (it was pretty rough out), playing in the sand (Erin did not join me for this activity), dancing to our very poppy music, & sharing snacks.
After a few hours we decided to pack up all of our shit which seemed way harder than setting everything up. Also, I forgot how much fun walking in burning hot sand is. What a treat. Then we decided to take a little stroll along the beach, under the pier, and back to the car. It was probably one of the best days I've ever had at the beach. We are just so on the same page especially when it comes to organization and planning.
We headed over the bridge and inland for lunch. I took her to Highjacker's because I haven't been in years! My old boss used to take our office all of the time and it's always held good memories. Plus I missed the Tailwind Wrap. We headed straight for the restroom so we could wash our sandy faces and dirtball hands. We were kind of a mess but whatever. Erin got a burger that was just as big as her head. Ha! And my wrap was just as I had remembered. Mmm!
I suggested we get a treat for the ride home so we stopped at one of our favorite places - Target, for Starbucks. The girls who helped us were more concerned about their drama filled lives than actually ringing us up or making our drinks. Erin said something to them and stormed off. All I could do was laugh. Those girls were pretty awful. But hey, we got our drinks so whatever.
We spent the next hour jamming out and laughing really hard at the most random hilarious stories.
It was the best day.

Emotional over: The Office! Oh man, The Office. It's been two days since the series finale and I feel like a friend has moved away and is never coming back. But at least I can still reminisce with all the video footage from their PBS documentary. The Office (like Lost) is really really special to me mostly because both shows were something Dustin and I started and finished together. I remember an old co-worker of mine telling me and Dustin to watch it. Then one weekend when we had nothing going on, we drove to Walmart and bought the first season. I've got to be honest, we were not sold right away. The first couple episodes are kind of terrible but then the show just took off and started to hit it's stride and never looked back. And neither did we. I'm pretty sure we went out the same weekend and bought the second and third seasons and watched episode after episode until we were completely caught up. For my birthday that year, Dustin bought me a Dwight Shrute bobble head (it makes more sense if you've actually watched the show) and he has had a place on my desk ever since. The Office has been apart of our lives for so long. Thursday nights will never be the same now that it's gone. I'm pretty sad about that. The finale was perfect. PERFECT (something I never got from Lost - still bitter J.J. Abrams, STILL BITTER!). And when Michael reappeared - OMG. It was time for it to end but it doesn't make it any easier. If you haven't seen the show, start from the beginning and give it an "old college try". You won't be disappointed...unless you have a horrible sense of humor, in which case I feel sorry for you.
Happy for: Erin! She has had a wonderful thing happen recently and is just glowing. I love seeing people I care about and love, happy. I could not be more happy that she is so damn happy. Happy happy joy joy!
Watching: There are two episodes of SYTYCD waiting for me on my DVR. I can't wait to check them out! It's the ONLY reality competition show I enjoy/watch. I like it because the contestants they choose are ALREADY talented and not B-list celebrities. It's just dance. So much fun!
I'm still going strong with Friday Night Lights. I've recently started season two and some shit is going down! Dustin and I are (slowly) getting through Breaking Bad and just about done with Season 3. The hockey playoffs are kind of getting in the way of us speeding right through but I won't complain too much because the Pens are kicking ass.
Thinking about: this tweet from James Phelps (aka Fred Weasley).
Thankful for: LiveJournal! I'm so glad this website still exists. It's seriously one of my best friends. I love having a place to dump all of my thoughts. My hopes, fears, rants, drama, opinions, and funny stories that I prefer to keep private. I don't know how people don't keep some kind of journal. I would go absolutely insane if I didn't have that release. Anytime I have something I can't get out of my head I immediately log in and type my heart out. And all of a sudden I feel lighter. The weight has been lifted. It's such an awesome thing.

Just a curious question.Whats the best album you own? Nees to get back to listening to albums instead of playlists all the time.I can totally relate to this. I hardly ever listen to my CDs anymore. I pretty much always have my iTunes on shuffle on my iMac and same goes for my music on my iPhone. I miss the days of popping a CD in my car and listening to it beginning to end. Now it's just random song after random song. Technology is awesome and the fact that I can now sync my phone to play through my car speakers still blows my mind but it's kind of nice to kick it old school once in awhile. So I'm going to try that this week. Maybe pick a new CD every morning on my way to work and jam out.

Friendly Friday: Me
I meant to post this LAST Friday as the official round-up to Friendly Friday but you know...life.
I asked Dustin to write a few words about me. Not because I'm some narcissistic maniac but to get an idea of how others perceive me. He did not disappoint. I really enjoyed his TLC reference and when he praised my self-taught disco moves.
It's hard for me to write anything about Ashley because she means everything to me. That's a lot of fucking feelings to put into one paragraph intro. Anyway, Ashley is my best friend and the funniest girl I've ever met. She's creative, caring (way too much), giving (way too much), crazy, sexy, cool and absolutely insane. You won't meet a better person on the face of earth and if you treat her right you will agree with my assessment of her 110%. She's also a Pittsburgh Penguins fan and does a mean John Travolta dance...which at the moment is very important.
Favorite Quote:
-Can't forget you get what you give. (I'm sure some very intelligent philosopher said this but I'm referring to the song by New Radicals.)
-It does not do to dwell on on dreams and forget to live. -Dumbledore (J.K. Rowling)
Celebrity Crush:
Ready? This could take awhile.
Alexander Skarsgard / Kris Letang / Olivia Munn / Josh Holloway / Joshua Jackson / James McAvoy / Kit Harrington / Richard Madden / Jennifer Lawrence etc. etc. etc.
One piece of advice you'd give your 16 year old self:
Don't waste so much time on people that clearly don't care about you. Give your all and if it still isn't working...just let them go. Let it go. Move the fuck on.
Beauty item you swear by:
Softlips Lip Balm (Vanilla) - I always have one in my purse. One on my desk. And one on my nightstand.
What does your typical weekend look like?
Friday - You can usually find me at the gym and then Target. I really party it up.
Saturday - Explore town with Dustin. Hang with friends. It's the day of plans and/or errands.
Sunday - Nothing. Never. Nope. Our friends know that we don't make plans on Sundays. Sorry but I just feel like they exist strictly for sweatpants, DVRing and napping.
Best book, movie, and/or song in the past month?
Book - The Fault In Our Stars. I wrote more about it here.
Movie - The Impossible
Song - Ain't It Fun by Paramore
Favorite fictional character of all time and why?
Hardest question of ALL TIME. Why would I ask such a thing?! I have so many! Felicity Porter for her sincerity. Just about every character in Harry Potter but especially Fred and George Weasley for their humor. April Ludgate for her sarcasm. Sawyer Ford for his nick-naming skills and overall awesomeness. And ALF, because 4 year old Ashley would be upset if I didn't mention him.
What are you passionate about?
Kindness. Giving. Harry Potter.
One goal you'd like to achieve by the end of the year:
Ride in a swan boat at Lake Eola.
Describe yourself in 6 words or less:
Nerdy girl with a sentimental heart.
What does friendship mean to you?
Everything. What is life without a friend or two? Like any relationship, it's all about the effort you put into it. It's laughing until you can't breathe, finishing each other's sentences, having blackmail material, long firm hugs, being honest even if it's hard, attending all of the parties and being especially present for the shit. It's a special bond, friendship. I feel like friends know the real you, more so than any relative or co-worker. And the coolest part is they accept you just as you are.

As if I didn't hate people already, I take I-4 to work every single day.
My electric stapler is going to take a finger off one of these days. Office jobs are dangerous!
I will hang up on you if YOU call me and then ask me to hold. Nope!

A bird just flew into the window at work while I was talking to Erin. We both jumped and screamed because obviously.
I love when words don't come out of my mouth properly. I said curtis instead of courteous!
4/20/13
A griddle attacked me this morning.
Erin and I broke out into The Brady Bunch movie song. With dance moves.
4/21/13
I'm spending my morning trying to decide who has the craziest twitter. It's between Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Amanda Bynes.
Dustin and I have perfected our signature dance for a wedding we're attending in a couple weeks. Get ready.
4/23/13
Probably not the smartest idea to eat trail mix hours before a dentist appt. but YOLO.
4/25/13
I quote 'Felicity' all the time. Today I used "I am feeling physically & emotionally revolted" to describe a situation.
Well I know I'm not the one you thought you knew back in high school.
Note to self: never ever sing while your flip or any other video device is recording. Like ever.
I'm still in denial that James Harrison is now a Bengal. Like what is this world coming to?!

Shower wasn't hot this morning. Hair didn't work as planned. And this day is going by at sloth speed.
4/27/13
Oh what a trim can do for your self-esteem!

I just really want a blizzard. From DQ. It's all I can think about.
Just made chocolate chip cookies minus the butter. They were ok. Still want a blizzard!
So far Friday Night Lights lives up to the hype.
4/29/13
We stayed up late watching Free Willy. I'm tired but I regret nothing.
I don't get reddit.
Tumblr is making me very emotional. I just started crying over a a 'My Girl' GIF. See what periods do to girls?!
4/30/13
Had a dream last night that I was still in high school & wouldn't be able to graduate because I missed too many classes. Woke up in a panic.
All I can think about is going home and watching Silver Linings Playbook with Dustin. Oh and also blizzards. I need a blizzard.
It's been 48 hours of only water to drink. Hopefully I can keep this up for awhile but it's just so damn boring.

If I were a camera battery charger, where would I hide? I need to find the SOB because I'm not in the mood to buy another camera.
Why does NY have two teams of every sport?!
I mean how cute is Matt Saracen on Friday Night Lights?
5/2/13
It's a weird feeling having to use Christmas stamps in May. Sure it gets the job done but its just not right.
5/3/13
Daydreaming about sweatpants and blizzards aka the cure for life.
5/4/13
You guys, I had a butterfinger blizzard today!!!! And now I will shut up about it. But seriously, why are they so good?
Lets be honest, no one really cares about the Kentucky Derby. And lets leave the big hats to the English. They do it better.
Selecting the perfect wallpaper for my iPhone home screen is stressing me out.

The smell of breakfast on the griddle courtesy of Dustin while I catch up on Mad Men. Oh lazy Sunday, you are THE BEST.
I hate when people can't make plans. You either can or can't. You either want to or don't. The maybe bullshit is annoying.
My patronus would totally be a dire wolf.... or a chipmunk. One of the two. Maybe even a chip-wolf!

Juice > coffee especially in the morning. SO REFRESHING.
Just had to skip Karma Police on Pandora. I'm the only one in the world who doesn't like Radiohead. Totes ok with that.
5/7/13
Dear everyone (minus J-Law & T-Swift) who went to the Met Gala (no idea what that even is), WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!
5/8/13
I JUST now realized that Lindsay Weir has been in Mad Men this season. I knew she looked familiar.
I go searching for one old pic of my brother and BAM! Hours later and I'm still looking at photos.
5/10/13
I saw a semi on I4 this AM that had 'Dillon' written on it and all I could think of was PANTHERS and QB1 Saracen.
You think I could still get a Jeff Reed shirt? I'd wear it proudly.
Sucks when you must choose the adult decision over the 'YOLO' one. But sometimes you need to be responsible. & responsibility is depressing.

It's a weird feeling having to use Christmas stamps in May. Sure it gets the job done but its just not right.

Daydreaming about sweatpants and blizzards aka the cure for life.

Connie Britton has the best hair I've ever seen.

Wish List
My 28th Flag Day is exactly a month away and I couldn't be more excited. Yes, I'm getting older. No, I don't mind. And yeah I totally believe in getting presents and doing whatever the hell you want on your day. Everyone deserves that much.
Yesterday, Dustin asked me to make him a list of things I wanted for my birthday. He asks me every year. He's good at surprising me with things I don't ask for but he knows I would like (i.e. Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck perfume, Kindle Fire, etc.) and things I totally want.
Sparkling Apple Juice (Everyone loves a drink that sparkles!)
Kindle Fire Gift Card (I've got lots of books on my 'to-read' list!)
A day with my brother (I'm not kidding. This would be the best b-day gift!)
Donate to a good cause. Like this one. Or this one.

This came out a few months ago and I was going to get it but I had to pay for this and that. And so it goes... I haven't played in awhile due to the game's freezing issues. I'm hoping they are somewhat resolved at this point but who knows. This is the last expansion pack I'd want for Sims 3 because in just a year's time...a whole new Sims will be coming out and I will of course have to upgrade. I've loved Sims since the original was released all the way back in 2000. I was in 9th grade. It's crazy how certain things stick.
I am super excited about ICMAM's new CD. It actually comes out right around my birthday but can be pre-ordered now. Ace Enders never disappoints! Listen to the lyric video for 'Lions'.
I would love everything from this Etsy shop but I've really got my eye on this mail stamp. It's perfect for the snail mail lover in me.
I really need want a new video camera. I've had my Flip HD since 2009. It's a tough little thing. It's given me days of memories through all kinds of conditions. I love it but it's slowly been dying the past 6 months. I was going to buy the new model until I found out they stopped selling Flips! WTF. I've been making do but it definitely isn't going to last very much longer. So I've been doing research on the best alternatives and have narrowed it down to two. Sony Bloggie Touch has a better design and a built-in USB just like my Flip BUT the Kodak PlaySport is water proof and overall more durable as far as the elements. I'm not really sure which is the better choice for me. They both have the main features I am looking for - compact and can hold 2 hrs of video.
Like I said in my Big Bang Bazaar post I want several prints from this shop. Sewing Machine. Anatomical Heart. Etc. But more than those I love the Harry Potter inspired one. It's kind of strange that I don't have any Harry Potter prints yet. I need to change that!
I am starting to go art/print crazy but I just can't stop. I love filling up our walls with things we love. Things that are true representations of our personalities. I still have 2 prints that need frames. It's kind of a boring gift but I would love for my prints to finally be brought to life and hung for us to see on a daily basis. I need sizes 11 x 17 & 8 x 10.

Little Things
It's your husband coming to eat lunch with you at work.
And him surprising you with an orchid too!
It's that first bite of a cupcake from the Yum Yum Cupcake Truck.
It's making fun of your husband for a bad pass he made while playing NHL13.
And then both laughing about it.
It's doing something nice for someone else.
It's listening to your iTunes playing on shuffle.
And smiling when each song brings a different memory to the forefront of your mind.
It's a funny comment a friend left on your FaceBook post.
It's changing into pajamas the moment you walk into the door.
It's not being too hard on yourself.
It's not your fault. It just is what it is.
It's sitting at your computer typing your thoughts.
It's realizing it's only Friday and you have the whole weekend in front of you.
It's those little things.
The simple pleasures.
That make up the big picture.

Seriously inspirational. Watch the whole thing.
New True Blood trailer.
Maria Mena - Diamonds cover (better than Rihanna!) and I always liked that about me
5 Things Real Adults Do
Keira Knightley looks like a rock star bride. So perfect.
Paul Miller spent a year without the internet.
Epic proposal video. I cried. I always cry over these videos!
Dino corn on the cob holders. I'd so get these if we ever ate corn on the cob.
If this isn't for you, then it's for someone you know.
Sims 4. 2014. Hell yeah!
5 Reasons to Stop Shopping at A&F. Proud to say I've never bought anything from that store.
Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifinakis: James Franco (Marry a Man!).
Kim K. preggo in a bikini. She looks great! And I'm loving her hair! But she really should stop wearing dresses like this.
Diagon Alley. 2014! AHHH!
Jennifer Lawrence continues to steal my heart.
Lip Sync Battle: Fallon vs. Krasinski
First watch: Clouds then watch the Covered Version
Female Purity Is Bullshit

Dustin Says
When I showed him my 'bun-hawk'...
"You look like a dinosaur. Kind of like Robbie."
"If you count success by the number of divorces my family has had, then we are the most successful family ever!"
While listening to The Stereodiary (his old band).
"I can play the drums to all of these songs."
"I rather you watch Kesha than the Kardashians."
"Your hair is getting long. You're starting to look like a hippie!"
"That fart got stronger over time."
"I could squirrel-watch with you all day."
"I'm too lazy to be rich."

Flat Savannah
In early April, Dustin asked me if I'd be willing to help our Ohio buds (the one's we've 'known' for years but just met last October during our Pitt trip) with a little project. Duh! Anytime!

She partied with us at Dave and Busters too. She even played some video games and rode on the virtual roller coaster with Sam and Erin!

Nicole is a second grade teacher and asked if I would help out a student at her school. She told Fiddy to tell Dustin to tell me (ha it's like playing telephone!) that she'd send me a package explaining everything. All I knew is I had to take something around town and take pictures of it at different places.
Basically, there's this kid's book, Flat Stanley , where Stanley somehow gets flattened and in doing so is able to go on all sorts of adventures. So the kids at school made flat versions of themselves by tracing their bodies on paper and coloring in their clothes, hair, etc.
I was so excited when the package arrived because I'm a snail mail freak but also because I wanted to see what this was all about. So I had about a month to take Flat Savannah wherever I wanted. They suggested a sporting event or maybe our local McDonalds. Also, I was supposed to pick up any kind of flyer or handout from the places we visited.
GAME ON.
Her first outing was to the Taylor Swift concert. The lighting was so dark that it was too hard to get a Flat Savannah and the real Taylor in the same shot. So I opted for one of her many posters around the arena. I also sent back a few pictures of Taylor's performance for Savannah to keep. (Hopefully she's a fan!)
Then we went to get cupcakes at the Food Truck Bazaar. It was very windy that day. Obviously.

And she joined us for the Color Me Rad 5K and even got a bit of orange color on her cheek! I ended up sending her my yellow sunglasses and they still had the color on the lenses.

We drove by the World's Largest McDonald's Playplace because Dustin was too embarrassed to actually go inside and take pictures. Oh come on!

Then I took her to Lake Eola and later that night, Andrew McMahon (someone I'm sure she's never heard of). The photo is one of my favorites with her head peeking out! HA.

We baked cookies. She helped stir. I even sent Savannah a copy of the recipe in case she wants to try it at home.
I showed her our wand collection from Ollivander's. She borrowed my shirt for the Pens first playoff game this season! (They won!)

She came to yoga!

Dustin even set up his drums so she could play. This is the first time they've been up in 2+ years (due to lack of space).
I made a card for each event with a little description and then matched them by number to the photos I had printed out for her. I asked Dustin to draw a photo for each one.
And then I packed everything up in a box, taped it up with splatter paint duct tape and an owl post sticker because why not? I shipped it back to her teacher and she should receive it tomorrow. I can't wait to hear what the real Savannah thinks about Flat Savannah's Orlando adventures.
I wanted to help Savannah with her project just because I like doing nice things. I also knew I'd have a lot of fun with it because I could get creative. But more than anything, I wanted to help because my parents were never that involved in my school life (or regular life for that matter) and since Dustin and I don't plan on having kids, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to give back to a kid.
Safe travels Flat Savannah!
