Throwback Thursday
Dustin grew a playoff beard in 2009.
I just love how he has a facial hair rainbow - blond, red, brown, black, and gray hairs.
It was burly and he looked like a beast but it worked.
Steelers won that Super Bowl by the skin of their teeth. The beard was gone that night.

past in present
THURSDAY: We didn't have anything to eat. And we weren't planning on going shopping until the weekend. So...we decided on some lovely burritos at Chipotle for dinner. Yum X3402934820349. Then we shared a coffee gelati from Jeremiah's. Once we were done stuffing our faces, we headed home.

As I was searching for these tapes, I came across so many memories. Just little things like my hospital bracelet from 2001, my old locker lock (and I couldn't believe that I still remembered the combination - it's weird what the brain holds on to), my Panera hat (gross) and name tag, a lightning bolt necklace I thought I lost (that Erin gave me back in 2006), and my 8th grade yearbook. The best thing about my 8th grade yearbook was that 50% of the comments were hair related. "It was cool seeing all your hair phases." "Your hair looks so good!" (I had just a month prior to school ending - chopped it off Natalie Imbuglia style). It made me feel so nostalgic. I reminisced about middle school for a few minutes and then put it all away. Back in the boxes that hold my past. I didn't feel sad though, I was more happy and grateful for all those experiences. Sometimes it's good to look back, just not for too long.
I finally had a lightning bulb moment and remembered exactly where the video camera and tapes were. They were tucked behind a picture in our TV stand in the living room. I put them to the side so I could go through them later. I just decided to keep cleaning and organizing. Dustin let me throw so much stuff away. I couldn't believe it. I hate clutter and disorganization. It makes me crazy! I'll have to thank my anal/OCD personality for that.
FRIDAY: I met Erin at the mall after work. I had this whole plan to find cute work shirts. Specifically shirts with cute print. I'm trying to stay away from solids but it's so hard! We hit up all the usual suspects - H&M & Forever 21. Nada. I ended up getting two plain shirts and the most comfy pair of sweat pants that have ever existed. But whatever, I'll get nice shirts one of these days but for now I'm going to bum around my house in my amazing sweats.
I suggested we eat dinner at Five Guys since Erin had NEVER been there. She loved it as I knew she would. Who doesn't love Five Guys? Those people would break my heart.
I came home with a mission to find Dustin's old video camera and all of our old tapes. My plan is to eventually put them all on DVDs. I searched through boxes in his closet. I didn't find it but I did find some pretty neat VHS tapes. One from 1986 that is all about Dinosaurs. I was not only surprised but extremely excited when I noticed that the main dino wore GLASSES. Does it get any more badass then that? Nope.
I also found a tape of Dustin's old band performing live. It was awesome. The band broke up not too long before he and I got together so I never got to see them rock out. They really were so good. I mean I still listen to their songs on my iTunes all the time even if it makes Pat and Dustin cringe. TSD forever!

I came home and FaceTimed with some work people. I am still cracking up over the elbow licking.
SATURDAY: Just a regular Saturday morning yoga sesh with Erin. She brought her friend Tim - it was his first time and he loved it. Yoga is kind of hit or miss. Love it or hate it. I'm glad he had a good time though. Trying something new like that can be nerve wracking and overwhelming but once you just let go of all your expectations, you can really have a good time.
We all met up at the Drunken Monkey for breakfast afterwards. Erin had been wanting to see what it was all about and I was craving Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Juice so it just kind of seemed perfect. It took us all forever to decide what we wanted.
Tim: Coffee
Erin: Pound Cake and Iced Latte
Me: Apple Crumb Cake and Sparkling AJ
It's such a cute little place. Tim told us about how they used to hold LOST parties every Thursday night. I remember hearing about them and I totally would have gone if I had been living in Orlando at the time. I have also heard they play board games on Friday nights. I want to check that out next! I love a good board game. Sign me up! I grabbed 4 more AJs before we left because I can't find them anywhere else anymore. Had to stock up!
I headed over to my mom's house to grab my high school yearbooks (my trip down memory lane a couple nights ago gave me the itch) and to check out my old bike. My middle school yearbook was all about my hair but my high school yearbooks were about how I was never in class. HA! I hated math, OK?! Sue me.
I'm not really sure how it all happened but before Dustin and I knew it we were meeting Pat & Sam at Ikea. It's free (as long as you don't get sucked into their super cute shit) and air conditioned so it's a win-win. We strolled around and I ended up getting a closet organizer (which I am LOOOOVING!), a bright green bath mat, and a bright green cooking spoon. I don't know why we were on a green kick but we were.
We looked around at all the crazy food AFTER we had already checked out, when someone noticed Ikea's version of Sparkling Apple juice. So of course I bought it. I couldn't pass it up. It was just a very Sparkly day for me. We still have yet to try it but fingers crossed!

Pat and Sam had already eaten, but Dustin and I were hungry so we decided it would just be easiest to head over to the mall's food court. First we had to wait for Spat/Pamantha to finish their Swedish ice cream cones in the parking lot. Pat was having a hard time with his ice cream. It kept dripping all over the place. See here. I told him I didn't trust him in my car with that thing and he replied "I don't trust myself".
Sam saved us a booth in the Food Court while Pat used the loo and Dustin and I got our food.

Pat was the last to come back to our table and was looking rather confused. He told us that on the way to use the restroom a guy came up to him and said "How was Ikea?!". I can't remember how he responded but I do remember that he couldn't stop talking about it. It was the funniest thing. We would just be walking through the mall or talking about something completely different and Pat would say "BUT what did that guy MEAN?!" or "What was that all about?!". We kept giving him a hard time about it all while cracking up. He's so funny in those weird, awkward interactions with strangers.
Sam kept me company while I was trying on an assortment of new frames and the boys headed off to who knows where. I found some RayBans that I really loved but I did not love the $170 price tag. I took a photo of the style description so I could google it later on. Side note: I found the exact same pair on Amazon for $108. I felt pretty damn smart about that one. Ha! Although I love the style, I was on the fence about the color scheme. So I decided to go a different route which was also my first instinct. I'll get them in October and show them off then.
We met back up with the boys. They told us that they had seen Kevin Nash in the mall and were kind of freaking out about it. I would have freaked out with them had I of known who Kevin Nash is. Dustin explained that he was a wrestler but he really knew him from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Of course he did.
Our last stop of the day was Target. My main purpose for going there was to look at more frames. I didn't have any luck. They didn't have a good selection and the prices were far too expensive. So we all just walked around. I bought a candle (just in case the power goes off during Tropical Storm Isaac) and some gray tennis shoes. Pat purchased a James Bond style bathing suit (it was kind of on the short side but still cool! still cool!). Dustin called it '00 Savings' because Pat was able to use his employee discount. Score. Turns out he got home, tried them on, and they didn't work out but good try!
I spent the remainder of the day cleaning and watching Felicity. It was nice and relaxing.
Dustin and I climbed in bed. Got out the breakfast tray. Hooked up the video camera. Finally we got to see one of those videos I had searched so desperately for. We sat there watching hours of video from 2005-2006. Pat and Dustin rolling around on the golf course across from his mom's old house, chocolate fountains with Katie, throwing a stink bomb in Miranda's bedroom, Christmas Card photo shoot with Miranda, Pat & Dustin, Dustin getting his first xbox, celebrating New Years Eve with the Zinzis. Just memory after memory. It was hysterical. It was comforting. It was sad. I loved every minute of it.

SUNDAY: We went grocery shopping at like 10 AM which is kind of strange. We just hate going so much PLUS a tropical storm was on the way so we figured we might as well get it over with and go early. It didn't even rain most of the day nor was it very windy. What a storm, huh? (Edit: It rained all day Monday.)
We watched the season finales of both True Blood and The Newsroom. Both were fantastic. I haven't really liked True Blood as a whole this past season but the finale was pretty damn good. And The Newsroom has been amazing for it's entire first season. All 10 episodes - fantastic. That's really hard to do for any show. Well done. I'm not looking forward to next Sunday when I have nothing to watch. Sad face!

Found
Glasses adventures.
The cutest cabin in the woods. AND the cutest sharing of ice cream.
The invisible bicycle helmet.
R. Patt on The Daily Show. I LOLed.
Hey girl, color me.
40 Ways To Feel More Alive. I love everything about this list.
Tiny TOMS. It's no secret that I think TOMS are super ugly but the miniature versions are adorable. It's kind of like Crocs - no one over the age of 10 should be caught wearing them.
I loved the honesty in this post. I'll admit that a lot of the things she is going through is what turns me off to having a kid of my own. I'm far too anxious as it is.
This is what I imagine Sam's engagement pictures will look like. And this little wedding is more sweet and beautiful than those frazillion dollar-brazillion people weddings.
Real-life My Little Ponies.
Ghost tits.
Paul Rudd knows whats up.
Antonio Brown, call me! Definitely, not maybe!
I just want to be a superhero.
This is the sweetest little birthday party. I especially love the little mask and tutu. Also seen here.

Dustin Says
You're beating the hell out of your deodorant.
Me: Do You read 'Dustin Says'?
Dustin: Yeah, I love everything I say.
Something witty is coming out of your brain.
You would be so cute in an apocalypse.
Sing to the tune of Gaston.
No one farts like Gaston!
No one drive golf carts like Gaston!
No one has a part time job at Walmart like Gaston!
I popped the shit out of those tarts.
It's definitely pre-season - Jacksonville just scored a touchdown.
I still marvel at these Transformers.
day 232
my monday was pretty hectic and well, mondays just aren't known to be fun in general.
so when dustin sent me this iMessage it totes made my day.
apparently he shared his lunch with this little guy he affectionately named, chip.
i think we might have him over for dinner.
A Fun Guy Has Fungi
FRIDAY: I made an appointment for Dustin to finally see an ENT to figure out his ear issue he's been having for a month. After he was done he called me at work and explained that he got right in, the MD sat him down in a chair and put a tube down his ear to suck out whatever was clogging it. He said it felt like the MD was inside his brain. I couldn't help but laugh. I mean if it had been me I would have had to be held down for that kind of thing. Nothing phases Dustin though. So once the MD got everything out of his ear he noticed that he had a fungal infection which was why his antibiotics and ear drops his PCP gave him didn't really do anything. So far the new drops seem to be helping. Fingers crossed!
SATURDAY: Dustin and I went to a lovely little lunch at the Red Lobster and then we finished the afternoon with a movie. We went to see Total Recall. AND OH. MY. GOD. I loved it. Dustin loved it. I have never seen the original but Dustin has and he always liked it but he said he liked the new one even more. It was non stop action from the start and yeah it was just a fun time.
After the movie, we headed to Publix to search for Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Juice. No luck. I even went to their website to find out which stores specifically carry it in our area. I was super bummed. But there is one more place I know carries it and I'll be going there this Saturday.
SUNDAY: Ran some errands. Hung out. Watched a Steelers pre-season game.

she and him
I saw a post on Eat Sleep Cuddle and not only did I think it was such a cute idea but I felt inspired to do my own version. It's a fun way to see how alike or different you and your spouse are. I've learned that Dustin and I are much more alike than I thought.

felicity wisdom
It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Felicity. I watched it through out high school and I've owned the DVDs ever since they were available. I like to re-watch them during the summer when all my regular shows are on hiatus. You know how most people have a comfort food? Well this show is my 'comfort show'. It's incredibly smart, funny and entertaining. This summer, while I've been watching the show (for the umpteenth time) I kept track of my favorite quotes. A lot of these quotes have gotten me through rough times and I don't think there is anyone out there who can't relate to at least one of them.
Felicity: "Why do you have a webpage?"
Noel: "Why does anyone have a webpage? Not enough friends, free time, justifying owning a computer."
"It all just...seems really important right now."
-Felicity
"I guess when your heart gets broken, you sort of start to see the cracks in everything. I'm convinced that tragedy wants to harden us, and that our mission is to never let it "
-Sally
"No matter what, you can never be ashamed of the truth, never"
-Felicity
"Have you ever had a student that feels guilty about growing up?"
-Felicity
"On one hand, expectations can really inspire you, but then again, they can really let you down"
-Sally
"I am feeling physically and emotionally revolted."
-Felicity
"I'm just...have you ever felt like there's no solace in anything, like wherever you turn you're just lost? I mean, I've never felt so lost in every conceivable way before."
-Felicity
"Sometimes bad things just happen. No reason, no purpose. They just occur and we're left to pick up the pieces. I guess that's what we're all doing all the time, just picking up the pieces the best we can"
-Sally
"Our best decisions, the ones we never regret, come from listening to ourselves."
-Sally
"I'm an emotional person. I need to be able to talk about my feelings. It's who I am and I don't want to change it."
-Felicity
"Isn't it weird how your parents have all these expectations for you before you can have them for yourself?"
-Felicity
"Life is serious. You can't waste it on things that aren't very important to you."
-Unknown (forgot - oops!).
"I'm learning little by little that we decide what our lives are going to be. Things happen to us but it's our reactions that matter.
-Sally
I've become a real believer in not defining every single thing. Seems like every time you think you've figured out what something is, it just becomes something else."
-Sally
"Sometimes in a relationship, going through hell isn't so bad if you come out of it a little stronger. The same is true about friends."
-Sally
"Do you know what I definitely believe in? Fate - that everything happens for a reason."
-Felicity
"Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that can change your life forever."
-Felicity

Currently
Anticipating: T-Swift's new album 'Red' out on 10/22! I have seriously been freaking out since I watched her announce it live via youtube last night. 16 songs! And the first single is just so catchy and awesome. Now only if iTunes would let me download it already! (Edit: I was able to download it! High five!) The best part is it comes out days before we head up to Pittsburgh. Plane music!
Reading: The Chamber of Secrets. I'm chugging right along with my HP re-read (for the millionth time). It's so comforting reading a book you know you already love. It's like when you drop everything to watch one of your fave movies even though you know every scene, every line. Sure you know what's going to happen but it never takes anything away from experiencing the journey over and over.
Watching: LOST! It started airing on G4 about a month ago. They air 4 episodes back to back (from the start) every Monday. So I have been DVR-ing them and watching at my leisure - which is normally while I eat my breakfast. I look forward to mornings with Sawyer. And everyone else - but mostly Sawyer.
I remember 3 or so jobs ago working with this girl who was obsessed with LOST. Season 2 was just about to start and she would always tell me how great it was and then I would tell Dustin how great she thought it was. On a whim Dustin just broke down and bought Season 1. We were still doing the long-distance-seeing-each-other-only on-the-weekends-thing so we only had Friday evening till Sunday evening. We stayed in bed literally all weekend and watched the entire 24 episode first season in 48 hours. It goes down as one of my favorite weekends ever.
Loving: Twitter!
Back story: Once upon a time I was all up on Myspace. I love the old Myspace days of profile songs, customized pages, GIFS on walls, actually having to work at stalking people etc. And then I reluctantly moved over to Facebook with the rest of the world. I've never particularly liked it but it is what it is. I go on and comment here and there but I don't really post all that much. If I were to list all the things I don't like about it I'd be here all damn night. I love love Instagram for photos and Twitter for tweets aka micro-blogging. So who really needs Facebook?
I have had Twitter since 2008 (or whenever it really started to take off) and have always loved it. I'm not sure what happened but I just stopped tweeting. I never stopped checking Twitter and following people and keeping up with everyone else's tweets - I just stopped participating. Anyway, I just recently started tweeting again and I love it. Facebook status updates are 98% stupid but twitter is so much more fun and witty. Hashtags! @! Yeah!
I will probably post some tweets on the bloggity blog blog at some point.

Dustin made this wonderfully awful awesome photoshop of me and my boyfriend circa 2006ish. If you don't get it - click here.
We were hooked within the first 5 minutes of the first episode and as soon as an episode would stop we would look at each other and ask the other "One more?" then we would say "Yeah!" at the same time. It was addicting then and it's addicting now. It's been off TV for 2+ years and it's kind of nice to see friendly faces again. Dustin likes to voice his disgust with it - only because he hated the way it all ended. I hate it just as much but the journey is still fantastic. In my head it ended differently. Better.
I'm about 3/4 done re-watching season one and there was a lot that I forgot about. Also, some of the best characters have yet to even pop up and some of the worst have yet to die.
My boyfriend is hilarious! Check these out:

Rock out to Rush
FRIDAY: I ran out of work and hopped on the highway (and made it through the downpour) to meet up with Erin for dinner. We decided to change it up and try a completely new-to-us place to eat - Graffiti Junktion. They have a few locations around Orlando but we decided on the one in College Park. Parking was kind of a nightmare. The spots are so small and crowded that it can get really frustrating. I had to circle the parking lot a few times before I could find a big enough spot for my car.
I had heard really good things about GJ so I was excited to try it out. It was described to me as 'beers and burgers'. I was obviously more interested more in the burger part. They had picnic tables out front with graffiti all over them and same went for the tables inside. We found a table for two next to a giant window and got to enjoy the view of the rain and all the random people walk by. They had really loud music playing - like Erin and I had to scream to have a conversation but it was kind of fun. We would both be talking then just break out into a dance. They also had a bunch of flat screens playing every sport available. It was a really cool environment. BUT it wasn't just the atmosphere that we loved - the food was equally as awesome. I got the 'cheese head' burger and OH MY GOD ridiculous. It's probably my new fave burger ever. Erin got the 'lone star' and really liked it as well. Full menu. So we had a blast just discussing life over really good food. Boos for life.

SATURDAY: I made it to yoga for the first time since my fall which resulted in a seriously banged up knee. Thankfully, my knee made it through just fine. I think I'm fully recovered! HA. It was such a good class. I mean they are always good but somehow it was extra good this week. The EHS (my alma mater - go eagles!) band was practicing across the street and Erin and I couldn't help but look at each other while in downward facing dog and laugh. Kind of ironic.
I had filled out a survey a few months back for the Cheesecake Factory and in return they gave me a $10 coupon. It was set to expire soon so I asked Dustin if he were up to lunch at the good ol' CF even though I already knew he'd say yes. Who turns down CF? No one.
The host took us to our table except we would have to be sitting RIGHT next to a whole other family. See example. So I spoke up and asked if they had a booth or just something a bit more private. If I'm going to go out to a nice lunch I don't want to be right next to strangers. Who came up with the brilliant seating design? An idiot, that's who. We waited a few more minutes and were escorted to another room and seated at a booth. The room was EMPTY. Empty. So dumb. Speak up. Speak now. Like T-Swift says.
The thing about CF is that their menu is HUGE. I usually choose something different every time I'm there (from pasta to burgers to seafood). However, the last couple times I've gotten their fish and chips because they are a delight. Perfectly crunchy. But this time I opted for pizza. I got the lunch portion and it came with a salad! It was so so good. I loved the mini peps. I told Dustin that they looked like contacts. We stuffed our faces and dropped off our leftovers in the car.
We walked around to waste time before the movie. We ended up in Pier One where the craziest old women work. From the minute we walked inside they just kept coming up to us talking about random shit. One lady showed us some napkins they were selling for Halloween that read 'Drink up Witches!'. She's all "I can't wait to use these for a girls night in October". Dustin and I just kind of smiled and nodded. We tried on some lovely masks. My mask made me look cross-eyed which isn't really a great look. We headed back to the movie theater when we got the text that Pamantha had arrived.
We all went to see 'The Campaign' with Will Ferrell and that one guy from The Hangover. It was hilarious which wasn't surprising.
Cam Brady: “Has anyone asked how my hand feels after punching the iron jaw of that baby?”

After the movie, we headed over to Guitar Center.
Dustin taught me early on that the louder you play in a music store the worse you are. The rule always holds true. Every. Single. Time. I don't really get it. I guess they are either starved for attention or possibly hearing problems. Who knows.
We walked around and found ourselves in a 'Rush' party. It was just a room with crazy lights and Rush playing really loud. It was only the four of us but we really rocked out. Hard. It's only natural when 'Tom Sawyer' is playing.

We all parted ways and Dustin and I headed home. I asked Dustin to take a picture of me in my new dress. I'm kind of obsessed with this dress. I mean I still wish I could have bought the apple dress but this one is just as awesome.
And then things just got out of control when we tried to get some photos of us together. We both think the other one has a huge head. Dustin has even measured the circumference of them and apparently both of our heads are the same size. So it's a running joke between us - he says I have a huge head because it's the same size as his and I have a smaller body. While we took these pictures we kept leaning back so the other one's head would look even bigger. This is what quality time looks like on a Saturday afternoon. Married life pretty much rules.
I was really excited to rent 'The Lorax' and 'The Five Year Engagement' when we got home BUT it was only available to purchase on xbox. Such bullshit. Xbox fail.
SUNDAY: The last day of the Olympics - TEAR. Bummed around. Got some groceries. The usual.
