Daredevil - Dustin and I finished season 2 last week and I've got to say I was kind of disappointed. I'm so glad they added Frank Castle aka The Punisher aka Shane from TWD because without him it would have been a total dud. Sadly, Matt Murdock wasn't likable this season and I blame Elektra for that. I couldn't stand the character. Like at all. Foggy and Karen were just as wonderful as they've always been but still there was something seriously lacking this season. The plot seemed all over the place and there wasn't a clear cut villain. It's worth a watch just to see how bad ass The Punisher is but otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Better Call Saul - Like Daredevil, I'm not enjoying Better Call Saul as much as I did the first season. However, it's a slow build and Vince Gilligan typically doesn't disappoint. Dustin and I just watched the episode where he leaves a floater in the toilet and wears the craziest suits and it was great! There are still a few episodes left and I'm excited to see Jimmy McGill start to truly become Saul Goodman.
The Walking Dead - I won't give anything away for those of you who haven't watched the finale but damn was that disappointing. The finale was a waste of 90 minutes. It was incredibly slow moving hour and a half that left the audience without any real payoff. Just look at Twitter and you'll see how many people agree with me on that. We finally get to meet Negan and he was great for the short time he made an appearance. He's such a likable villain unlike The Governor, whom I hated from the start. I feel like the writers are trying to drag this series out for as long as possible just because it's so popular. I much rather them end it soon and it be great than have a 10 season run that is just eh.
Listening to:
I think that I would be fine if you left me
Fine if we end up divorcing
Perfectly happy alone
You think that I'm still the man that you married
But something has changed on the inside
And I'm not who I want to be
So save that heart for me
Cause girl you know that you're my destiny
Swear to the moon, the stars, the sons, and the daughters
Our love is deeper than the oceans of water
There's blood on the sand
There's blood in the street
And there's a gun in my hand
Or there might as well be
And I'm sick of it
I'm so sick of it
Reading: Red Rising by Pierce Brown. My co-worker raved about this trilogy so I'm giving it a shot. It's a mix of Harry Potter meets Hunger Games meets sci-fi. So far I'm really enjoying it. I love the futuristic Mars setting a lot. I'm about 50% done and hope to finish it in the next couple days. I need to see how Darrow makes out at The Institute.
Excited about: The PACIFIC MOTHERFUCKING NORTHWEST. Can you even believe Dustin will be across the country come this time next week?! I can't believe it's almost here. I've had our suitcases out for weeks. No joke! I just get so excited that I have to start the preparations. I am so pumped but at the same time a little overwhelmed. I've got a lot I want/need to accomplish at work before we leave. We also have to figure out who is going to be feeding the cats. We'll get there though and it'll be so worth it.
Enjoying: My undercut! I recently (a week ago) had my hair stylist shave a triangle size portion of hair on the back of my head. I've always thought the undercut was cool but it wasn't until Rachelle posted this photo on Pinterest did I realize you could have one that was totally hidden if you wanted it to be. I didn't have any hesitance when she brought out the clippers. I was all "Let's do this thing!" because it's just fucking hair. I didn't think I wouldn't like it but I also wasn't sure if I would love it as much as I do. Is it totally weird that I feel way more bad ass with part of my head shaved? Because I do. This is the year of totally different hair. My goal is to totally cut it off at some point before the end of 2016. Who knows when I'll get the itch. (But probably when it's 100 degrees and humid as hell).
