The Zinzi bunch came over last Saturday evening sporting birthday presents and snacks. We got straight to business and chowed down on the vegetable tray, triscuits, spinach dip, and meatballs and weenies! And then we washed it all down with an assortment of Publix bakery fresh cookies. It was already a great night. But then I opened my presents and OMG. First I saw the pins. Katie had been wearing a "Babes Against Bullshit" pin for a couple weeks and every time I was like "I love that pin!" and wouldn't you know that she got me the same one. And the bonus was I got an ALF pin which is just out of this world (almost to Melmac). She also got me a "Nasty Woman" cross-stitch hoop! For the finale I got Cheeto and Olive socks. Like their cute little faces are each on a damn sock and their names are on the back like they are little baseball players. I mean, it's the cutest fucking thing ever and I will wear the shit out of them. Seriously I could not love them any more.
I would have been perfectly content if that was the end of the night. But oh no, we were just gettingfarted started.
The girls were being quiet and I could see they kind of looked bored. So I brought out some games we could play. They immediately perked right up and were eager to learn the rules. The first game is Catch-Phrase. You break into teams of two and one person from each team tries to get their team to guess the word and then you pass it to the other team. The goal is to do it as quickly as possible because the team still guessing when the buzzer goes off loses. The girls got so into this game I was dying of laughter. And then I was laughing so much I was farting. But let me just say that so was Katie. She just had a cushier surface under her butt that covered up the noise. I was stuck on the hard wood floor so you can just imagine how that went. (A total Becky moment...Roseanne, Season 2, Episode 1 - Inherit the Wind) I mean, when Kierce blurts out "Racoons eat chickens." you can't not laugh. We also played Sour Apples to Apples until everyone was basically too tired to stay awake. The whole night was spent laughing so hard I started cough (and farting). That's a pretty damn good time. But seriously I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard.
I love that family something terrible.
