Last week I went to pick up my new lenses. I was planning on keeping my current frames BUT they are beat up (had them for two years) and with my vision insurance I get free frames up to $130 so it felt like throwing away a deal. I tried just about every frame in the whole damn store. It became frustrating. Too wide, too square, too circular, too fancy, too lame. I sent all of the above pictures to Dustin via iMessage. Both of us were all - nope to every single pair. Until I found the pair. They were probably the second to last I tried on. They aren't as wide or rectangular as my old one but they are awesome in their own way. So I had the guy put in my new lenses and I was on my way.
It wasn't until I got home that I noticed these dots. I figured they were just dirty, so I cleaned both lenses with my handy dandy cloth. Still there. Am I seeing things?! I asked Dustin if he could tell if something was wrong and after he made fun of me for my crazy presciption strength he said the same thing I was thinking - there's a glare. A fucking glare. It was right in my line of vision no matter where I looked. It was annoying.
I brought them back to my eye doctor and asked what happened. They told me I had everything (scratch proof, UV protection, thinnest, shatter proof lens) except for the anti-glare. I had asked for the best of the best lens. Instead I got almost the best but not quite. That's not good enough when I wear these on my face from the time I get out of the shower at 6AM until I go to bed at 11PM - 365 days a year. So they are currently fixing my lenses and I don't get them until Friday. Sad face! Soon I will be able to see more clearly, will have fewer headaches, AND won't even think about glare.
Note: Completely off topic but to those who asked what happened to my blog this past week...well I have been trying to re-arrange and change it up a bit. It's mostly how I want it. I will be adding a few things over the next few days but at least it's visible for those who care. (And by the way - thanks for caring. It always surprises me that anyone is interested in what I have to say or ramble on about.)
