Seeing Green

Dustin and I had our photos taken in celebration of our 10 year anniversary a few weeks ago!

But let me back up a little bit.

Once in a while depending on the topic of the post, I'll read the comments left by others on various blogs that I follow. It's a great way to not only see different perspectives but also you can find tons of new-to-you blog(s) to enjoy. This is exactly how I found Rhiannon of A Modern Gypsy. Her comment (on I think Sometimes Sweet) lead me to her own blog which lead me to her Instagram feed. The crazy part is that she lives in the Orlando area too - small world! And now it's a couple years later and we're what some would call "internet friends". Ha! I didn't know her beyond comments on each other's social media. But then when Sam was asking me about photographers for her and Pat's wedding and I immediately thought of Rhiannon and her husband Rey. I can't remember if it was before or after Sam had booked them but I also asked if they would be able to do our anniversary photos. This was way back in September and I felt silly for scheduling so far in advance but it's better to be safe than sorry. And they seem pretty busy so I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I told them I wanted a downtown vibe. She suggested we do the shoot in Mount Dora which I thought was great because I'd never been.

So Dustin and I get there a few minutes early because I wasn't sure exactly how long it would take us.  We met up with them around 10 AM and it was still a little chilly. I was hoping it wouldn't be too cold because I hadn't really planned on my cardigan being a part of the photos. Thankfully it warmed up a bit once we started walking around. They were both so nice and I immediately felt completely at ease. It wasn't long before the four of us were cracking jokes and Dustin was showing them this hilarious story

We walked the streets of downtown Mount Dora and along one of the lakes where we got to watch (and be photographed in front of) a seaplane landing. It was great to watch but there's no way in hell I'd go on a small plane like that. I can barely do regular planes. Ha! It was such a fun morning which was just a bonus on top of getting some new photos of us. And speaking of the photos themselves...well, they are absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy with how our green ensemble popped against all the different backgrounds. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out! And I can't wait to do it all over again for Sam & Pat's wedding in a couple of weeks!
