Excited about: Texas! I don't think I've mentioned that I'm going to Dallas Memorial Day weekend to visit my boo aka Erin. But I am! I've seen her once in the past year and a half (and it was only for a few hours) which is kind of hard to believe since we used to spend every day together. It'll be a short visit but I'm just glad we'll be able to spend some real quality time together making new memories. That's the thing no one ever mentions when people move far away...the memory making stops. Sure you can talk, text, etc. but you're just having conversations, you're not actually creating anything together that you can look back on in your mind. Sure, I'm a little nervous to fly alone because I haven't done that since I was 19 but it's a short flight so I should be ok.

Listening to: Shawn Mendes! Damn right! Ok yes he's a 16 year old pop singer but I'm totally smitten with his song Stitches. I saw him perform the acoustic version on Ellen last week and have had it on repeat ever since. Judge away. No shame here.

Annoyed about: I noticed when I got back from lunch today my tooth felt weird. It was then I realized there was a small hole in my upper molar. Apparently, part of my filling came out. SHIT. I of course freaked out because I'm anal when it comes to my teeth. I already had a dentist appt. scheduled for next week for my yearly exam but I wasn't sure I could wait that long. They said I should be ok since so far there isn't any pain. I can't go a week like this though. Because it kind of hurts when I eat. Here's to hoping I can get in tomorrow and get it patched up.

Watching: Daredevil. Ok we actually finished this the night before we left for Pittsburgh but I haven't had time to mention it on the blog so I figured now was just as good a time as any. I got Netflix for Kimmy Schmidt but I kept it around just to watch Daredevil. It did not disappoint. OMG that Matt Murdock is some kind of sexy. But besides the obvious it's a really great show. I mean my girl Jess from True Blood is in it along with my favorite bash brother of Mighty Duck fame. It's a much darker take on the whole super hero thing which I really enjoyed. I'm already jonesin' for season two. Go watch it!

The Graduate. I saw it on Netflix and went for it. My mom is always trying to get me to watch old movies and I must admit she hasn't steered me wrong yet. (Love Story & On Golden Pond are a couple I've watched at her urging and actually loved.) Anytime The Graduate is brought up she just could never believe I hadn't seen it. And after watching it I can't believe it took me so long to sit down and watch. It was so good. It kind of had a Wes Anderson vibe (obviously before Wes' time but you get what I mean). It deserves all of the hype.

The Casual Vacancy. This was originally a book by J.K. Rowling. It was the first book she wrote after  Harry Potter. I remember running out to buy a copy the second it was released just as I had done with every book in the HP series. But unfortunately the book was really hard to get into. There were a lot of characters thrown at you all at once and to be honest it was kind of hard trying to remember who was who. I never finished the book even though I tried on multiple occasions. I felt so bad, like I had disappointed her somehow. I had read that she was turning it into a TV miniseries a while back and then bam Dustin shows me that it's on HBO last week. So I of course watched it. I enjoyed it much more than the book although it was really depressing. There were very few likable characters, if any. I know it's so naive to say but I always envision England and the english to kind of have their lives together more so than us idiot Americans. The truth is we're all messed up.
