THURSDAY: We didn't have anything to eat. And we weren't planning on going shopping until the weekend. So...we decided on some lovely burritos at Chipotle for dinner. Yum X3402934820349. Then we shared a coffee gelati from
Jeremiah's. Once we were done stuffing our faces, we headed home.

his and hers.
I came home with a mission to find Dustin's old video camera and all of our old tapes. My plan is to eventually put them all on DVDs. I searched through boxes in his closet. I didn't find it but I did find some pretty neat VHS tapes. One from 1986 that is all about Dinosaurs. I was not only surprised but extremely excited when I noticed that the main dino wore GLASSES. Does it get any more badass then that? Nope.
I also found a tape of Dustin's old band performing live. It was awesome. The band broke up not too long before he and I got together so I never got to see them rock out. They really were so good. I mean I still listen to their songs on my iTunes all the time even if it makes Pat and Dustin cringe. TSD forever!
As I was searching for these tapes, I came across so many memories. Just little things like my hospital bracelet from 2001, my old locker lock (and I couldn't believe that I still remembered the combination - it's weird what the brain holds on to), my Panera hat (gross) and name tag, a lightning bolt necklace I thought I lost (that Erin gave me back in 2006), and my 8th grade yearbook. The best thing about my 8th grade yearbook was that 50% of the comments were hair related. "It was cool seeing all your hair phases." "Your hair looks so good!" (I had just a month prior to school ending - chopped it off
Natalie Imbuglia style). It made me feel so nostalgic. I reminisced about middle school for a few minutes and then put it all away. Back in the boxes that hold my past. I didn't feel sad though, I was more happy and grateful for all those experiences. Sometimes it's good to look back, just not for too long.
I finally had a lightning bulb moment and remembered exactly where the video camera and tapes were. They were tucked behind a picture in our TV stand in the living room. I put them to the side so I could go through them later. I just decided to keep cleaning and organizing. Dustin let me throw so much stuff away. I couldn't believe it. I hate clutter and disorganization. It makes me crazy! I'll have to thank my anal/OCD personality for that.
FRIDAY: I met Erin at the mall after work. I had this whole plan to find cute work shirts. Specifically shirts with cute print. I'm trying to stay away from solids but it's so hard! We hit up all the usual suspects - H&M & Forever 21. Nada. I ended up getting two plain shirts and the most comfy pair of sweat pants that have ever existed. But whatever, I'll get nice shirts one of these days but for now I'm going to bum around my house in my amazing sweats.
I suggested we eat dinner at Five Guys since Erin had NEVER been there. She loved it as I knew she would. Who doesn't love Five Guys? Those people would break my heart.
I came home and FaceTimed with some work people. I am still cracking up over the elbow licking.
SATURDAY: Just a regular Saturday morning yoga sesh with Erin. She brought her friend Tim - it was his first time and he loved it. Yoga is kind of hit or miss. Love it or hate it. I'm glad he had a good time though. Trying something new like that can be nerve wracking and overwhelming but once you just let go of all your expectations, you can really have a good time.
We all met up at the Drunken Monkey for breakfast afterwards. Erin had been wanting to see what it was all about and I was craving Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Juice so it just kind of seemed perfect. It took us all forever to decide what we wanted.
Tim: Coffee
Erin: Pound Cake and Iced Latte
Me: Apple Crumb Cake and Sparkling AJ
It's such a cute little place. Tim told us about how they used to hold LOST parties every Thursday night. I remember hearing about them and I totally would have gone if I had been living in Orlando at the time. I have also heard they play board games on Friday nights. I want to check that out next! I love a good board game. Sign me up! I grabbed 4 more AJs before we left because I can't find them anywhere else anymore. Had to stock up!
I headed over to my mom's house to grab my high school yearbooks (my trip down memory lane a couple nights ago gave me the itch) and to check out my old bike. My middle school yearbook was all about my hair but my high school yearbooks were about how I was never in class. HA! I hated math, OK?! Sue me.

Right: Me
Junior year!
I'm not really sure how it all happened but before Dustin and I knew it we were meeting Pat & Sam at Ikea. It's free (as long as you don't get sucked into their super cute shit) and air conditioned so it's a win-win. We strolled around and I ended up getting a closet organizer (which I am LOOOOVING!), a bright green bath mat, and a bright green cooking spoon. I don't know why we were on a green kick but we were.
We looked around at all the crazy food AFTER we had already checked out, when someone noticed Ikea's version of Sparkling Apple juice. So of course I bought it. I couldn't pass it up. It was just a very Sparkly day for me. We still have yet to try it but fingers crossed!

Pat and Sam had already eaten, but Dustin and I were hungry so we decided it would just be easiest to head over to the mall's food court. First we had to wait for Spat/Pamantha to finish their Swedish ice cream cones in the parking lot. Pat was having a hard time with his ice cream. It kept dripping all over the place.
See here. I told him I didn't trust him in my car with that thing and he replied "I don't trust myself".
Sam saved us a booth in the Food Court while Pat used the loo and Dustin and I got our food.
Pat was the last to come back to our table and was looking rather confused. He told us that on the way to use the restroom a guy came up to him and said "How was Ikea?!". I can't remember how he responded but I do remember that he couldn't stop talking about it. It was the funniest thing. We would just be walking through the mall or talking about something completely different and Pat would say "BUT what did that guy MEAN?!" or "What was that all about?!". We kept giving him a hard time about it all while cracking up. He's so funny in those weird, awkward interactions with strangers.
Sam kept me company while I was trying on an assortment of new frames and the boys headed off to who knows where. I found some RayBans that I really loved but I did not love the $170 price tag. I took a photo of the style description so I could google it later on. Side note: I found the exact same pair on Amazon for $108. I felt pretty damn smart about that one. Ha! Although I love the style, I was on the fence about the color scheme. So I decided to go a different route which was also my first instinct. I'll get them in October and show them off then.
We met back up with the boys. They told us that they had seen
Kevin Nash in the mall and were kind of freaking out about it. I would have freaked out with them had I of known who Kevin Nash is. Dustin explained that he was a wrestler but he really knew him from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Of course he did.
Our last stop of the day was Target. My main purpose for going there was to look at more frames. I didn't have any luck. They didn't have a good selection and the prices were far too expensive. So we all just walked around. I bought a candle (just in case the power goes off during Tropical Storm Isaac) and some gray tennis shoes. Pat purchased a James Bond style bathing suit (it was kind of on the short side but still cool! still cool!). Dustin called it '00 Savings' because Pat was able to use his employee discount. Score. Turns out he got home, tried them on, and they didn't work out but good try!
I spent the remainder of the day cleaning and watching Felicity. It was nice and relaxing.
Dustin and I climbed in bed. Got out the breakfast tray. Hooked up the video camera. Finally we got to see one of those videos I had searched so desperately for. We sat there watching hours of video from 2005-2006. Pat and Dustin rolling around on the golf course across from his mom's old house, chocolate fountains with Katie, throwing a stink bomb in Miranda's bedroom, Christmas Card photo shoot with Miranda, Pat & Dustin, Dustin getting his first xbox, celebrating New Years Eve with the Zinzis. Just memory after memory. It was hysterical. It was comforting. It was sad. I loved every minute of it.
SUNDAY: We went grocery shopping at like 10 AM which is kind of strange. We just hate going so much PLUS a tropical storm was on the way so we figured we might as well get it over with and go early. It didn't even rain most of the day nor was it very windy. What a storm, huh? (Edit: It rained all day Monday.)
We watched the season finales of both True Blood and The Newsroom. Both were fantastic. I haven't really liked True Blood as a whole this past season but the finale was pretty damn good. And The Newsroom has been amazing for it's entire first season. All 10 episodes - fantastic. That's really hard to do for any show. Well done. I'm not looking forward to next Sunday when I have nothing to watch. Sad face!
