Throwback Thursday
In the upstairs bedroom at Dustin's grandparent's house, there is a small bookcase full of photo albums. Mostly of his childhood. Every night of our trip, before we went to bed, we would look at one or two. I would scream "awww!" and Dustin would tell me something I didn't know. From favorite toys, relatives, funny stories. Everything. It's fun to be able to learn something new about someone you've been with for so long. We've reached that stage where I thought I already knew everything. I'm glad I was wrong.
Things I learned while looking at all of these photos:
-Dustin only wore Steelers and Batman shirts.
-He was Raphael on two separate Halloweens.
-Every toy or video game in all of the Christmas/Birthday photos was TMNT or Batman related.
-He was then (and still is) an exceptional artist. He won multiple awards for his drawings in elementary school.
-He painted a lot of ceramics with his grandmother.
So night after night until we had to go home, we would flip through the pages. I am always impressed with his grandma's photos albums. She's got titles and dates for almost every picture. I feel like it's the physical equivalent to my Flickr account. When we came across a REALLY fantastic photo, I took a photo with my iPhone. Last time we were up there, we kind of skimmed through the albums but I didn't even think to take a photo with my phone. I don't have very many photos of "little Dustin" so I am just happy that now we do. Sure, they may not be the greatest quality but that's ok. We have each other's future but it's nice to look back at parts of our past - together.
I have been fighting the urge to post "little Dustin" photos for every single instagram #throwbackthursday. Fair warning.
As a baby, he had this really blonde hair and a big ol' head. As a toddler his hair darkened and his head got bigger. Juuuust kidding. And as a kid, his mom made him wear his pants up to his shoulders. Pretty hilarious. But really, poor Dustin! As a teenager he grew his hair out and pretty much wears the exact same thing nowadays - khaki pants, flip flops, and a t-shirt.

There are only two things that make me sad that I'll never have a kid. Neither are reasons to have children, obviously, but I'm human and even though I know I don't want a kid, I do sometimes think about it.
1. I'm definitely a sucker for any baby gear/clothing related to Pittsburgh sports teams. A baby Fleury jersey?! I mean, come on!
2. Dustin as a baby/kid, whatever. Seeing photos and video of him when he was little makes me want to throw my birth control in the toilet. Eventually, I remember all the reasons I don't want kids and come to my senses but he's just so damn cute it's hard to resist.

I'm going to post some photos, in like groups, of "little Dustin" for the next few weeks. This week's theme is Batman.
And this was taken by me, in 2005. Nothing has changed.

Throwback Thursday
I think I was about 8 in this picture so that would mean this was taken in 1993ish. I had quite a few roller-skates/rollerblades in my time but these were by far my favorite. This photo kind of makes me want to pull out my blades and go to town.

Throwback Thursday
Dustin grew a playoff beard in 2009.
I just love how he has a facial hair rainbow - blond, red, brown, black, and gray hairs.
It was burly and he looked like a beast but it worked.
Steelers won that Super Bowl by the skin of their teeth. The beard was gone that night.

Throwback Thursday
Dustin and I were reminiscing about the hundreds of 'body rub' phone calls we received a couple summers ago. So, I found the story in my LJ and figured it just had to be shared again. It's too ridiculous and hilarious not to.
Originally posted on my LJ on 7/3/10
I've been getting at least 10 calls a day from random creepy guys for the last couple weeks. They kept referring to a craigslist ad for massages. I responded "Um, no. You've got the wrong number". Then I started to just ingnore the calls. That didn't do any good. It started becoming pretty frustrating. I thought maybe there was a typo on the ad OR someone must really hate me to put my phone number out on the internet. So Dustin googled my number and the word craigslist and BAM! - found the posting. It's actually pretty hilarious.
Body rub from cute and sexy girls - $55 for 30 minutes and only $95 for 1 hour. I had no idea I was involved in something so truly brilliant. Bahahaha.
So Dustin being the good husband that he is found their Myspace page and found their real number. It's one digit off from mine. So I called it and got an answering machine for Scarlett and Jessica. In my best business/bitchy voice I said something along the lines of "This is Ashley and you've got my fucking phone number listed as your contact info on your stupid ad on craigslist. I suggest you remove or correct it immediately" I also reported it to craigslist directly.
It's just so ridiculous. I even printed it out to put in my scrapbook. I'm not kidding.

The calls won't stop!
I got 4 phone calls between 2-4 AM on Saturday night...well I guess it was technically morning. Dustin answered one, I slept through a couple, then the 4th woke me up. I was so pissed. I chewed the guy out. It went something like "You've got the wrong number. Stop fucking calling me". Then Dustin and I stayed up for another hour laughing hysterically about all the nonsense.
Craigslist was quick to remove the post after my lovely email to them. But then we found out the stupid bitches posted ads on Daytona and Orlando backpage. I've never even heard of backpage but I sent them an email too. Dustin did finally get a hold of one of the real body rub girls and told them they better get my number off of every single ad they sent out.
The calls keep on coming though. Apparently, 4th of July is a hoppin' weekend for body rubs.
Dustin started answering each call with a different accent. It's been very entertaining. The thing that's super annoying is the texts. I hate texts. I don't even like them from my friends let alone some gross guy in need of rubbing. Gagggg! Some guy called me precious in a text. I mean really? I'm going to vomit.
This better stop real soon or I might have to go back to pay phones. Do they even still exist? If not, I'm screwed.

Throwback Thursday
My grandma, grandpa, and a lion. Yeah, a lion.
I'm not sure when this photo was taken but it had to of been 10+ years ago since my grandma has been gone for that long. I think this photo is so awesome. I mean there is a lion in my grandpa's lap!
My grandparents visited the world and had so many amazing once-in-a-lifetime adventures. I'm pretty sure this was at a zoo in Indonesia but I could be wrong. They've been so many different places that I can't keep track. But it doesn't matter, because this moment is forever frozen in this photo and every time I look at it I kind of feel like I was part of their adventure too.

Throwback Thursday
This photo was taken on Katie's 'surprise' 20th birthday party back in March 2005. The party was so much fun and it will forever go down as one of my favey fave parties I've ever (partly organized)/been to. So many awesome people (most I never talk to anymore =/ but they are still appreciated and missed), a penis cake, and other awesome random shenanigans. Another memory that stands out is peeing outside with Katie. I'm pretty sure I peed on myself too. (Or was that the Superbowl party? Eh whatever) The point is I still haven't mastered the art of going outside. It's too hard! I need a whizzy.
I wanted to post a photo of us today because we have plans tonight to FINALLY get together. So I thought it was rather fitting.
MAD PROPS.

5/3/05
My mom won't go in her bathroom because there is a spider (Bernard) on her hairdryer. Haha. She has just offered me money to get rid of Bernard.
Update: He has now gone inside the dryer. She turned it on and he jumped on her. HAHA

Throwback Thursday
When i first met dustin, he was working at starbucks and continued to for about the first year we were together. I want to say that this picture was taken by Katie while she was in town and I was stuck in Orlando one random weekday. So it had to be spring of 2005. I love it so much. It reminds me of so many happy memories - Dustin making me a 'special' drink that wasn't on the menu that included apple juice and caramel, bringing him and Rachelle lunch, and how he would complain of smelling like coffee. Oh how far we've all come.

Throwback Thursday
I've seen a lot of blogs do throwback features and twitter users with their fun hashtags (#throwbackthursday). I thought it would be fun to feature an old photo or old LJ post every Thursday.
The post that even got me thinking of doing this, is one I wrote in my LJ on 6/19/2009 about the summer.

missing out on summer
i really miss the summers where you live in the water.
that's how my summers used to be until the real world and it's responsibilities slapped me in the face.
i swam all day.
in the pool. in the sprinklers. springs. lake. & ocean.
i miss that feeling of not worrying about anything except which bathing suit i was going to wear.
getting a tan and burnt cheeks.
wrapping a huge, warm, dry towel around me and eating something off a grill.
oh and the shower after a good hard day of swimming was always the most refreshing.
summer just isn't the same when you're an "adult".
