Bieber and Bears

SATURDAY: I woke up at 7AM but didn't really roll out of my bed until 30 minutes later. I put on my yoga attire and headed over to my grandpa's house. My mom just told me this week that there were presents over there, from Christmas, from my Aunt, Uncle and cousins. So I figured I'd go pick them up before meeting up with Erin at yoga. It was an emotional experience (more on that in a later post). I picked up my presents and fed the three stray cats that have found a home on the property and left.

Yoga was just the ticket to calm me. I felt very relaxed and a lot more emotionally stable once class was over. Thanks CPY.

When I got home, Dustin and I opened our presents together. He got a flameless Steelers candle. He put it on his nightstand. Pretty neat! I got the prettiest scarf (and it's soft too!) along with some lovely tree ornaments and a gift card. Kind of fun to open presents long after the holidays have come and gone! The Bieber wrapping paper is pretty funny. I guess they were out of Hanson.

The Pens won their first game of the season against the Flyers. Dustin was like a little kid watching the game. I love hockey and I'm glad it's back for a lot of reasons but mostly because it makes Dustin so happy. I predicted James Neal would score the first goal but actually TK did! James Neal did however get the second goal! So yeah!

The minute the Pens game was over we left to go watch the Solar Bears take on the Nailers. We had to go through a tiny bit of traffic downtown because Jerry Seinfeld was at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center. But we found parking pretty quickly and walked a few blocks over to the Amway Center. It was the first time Dustin and I had been to it. I was very familiar with the Orlando Arena (O-rena)/TD Waterhouse but the Amway was a whole new experience. It is super nice both inside and out. Obviously. It is new. I was impressed. We had tickets in the lower bowl but at the last minute Dustin's boss and other co-workers had two extra tickets and invited us to their private box club seating. We got to go up a elevator instead of the escalator. Fancy! My jaw dropped to the floor when I walked into the room. I mean it was so nice. It had flat screens, couches, bar, food, the works! I had never watched a sporting event in such luxury! Dustin and I got comfortable and watched the game. We sat in these seats. After the first period I had to go to the restroom. I planned on leaving our suite and walk down the hall but as I was leaving I noticed we also had our very own private restroom. I mean, what?! Baller status indeed. I took video and photos because duh. I will probably never be in there again so why the hell not? Totally didn't understand the sink but I loved it anyway. It was so nice to be able to get up and walk around anytime we wanted throughout the game.

Dustin's work buds were so funny. They kept saying there were 3 quarters in the game and also wanted flags thrown (like in football). It was cracking us up.

The Bears managed to get the puck in the net (I think it was their second goal of the night) and the Nailers goalie freaked out! Like threw the whole net at the referee kind of freak out. Dustin said he's never seen that before. I was kind of shocked he didn't get ejected from the game. It made for a good game!  I wasn't really sure who to root for though. Orlando (my hometown) or Wheeling (Dustin's home state and Pens affiliate). I kind of rooted for everyone. Both teams had a couple stand out players so it was just all around fun. (James Neal's little brother is on the Bears too!)

It was definitely more relaxing since it didn't REALLY matter who won. Steelers and Pens games are much more nerve-wracking! It was such a good time though. The Bears won in overtime. So much hockey in one day after none for months. Puck yeah!

I just love that the Solar Bear mascot is named 'Shades'. I mean it's a little cheesy and kind of ridiculous (Polar Bear in Florida?) but I still like it. I love any mascot that's all about glasses!

SUNDAY: Gym. Post Office. Grocery store. Nap. GPGN! Take that Jersey Shore.
