Watching: I just made it to season six of Sex In The City and I'm kind of sad that it's almost over. I've really been enjoying hanging out with those girls.
Season five of Fringe is finally on Netflix! Hurray! Dustin and I have watched that show from the beginning. Like still in Palm Coast beginning! We were both interested because it was created by J.J. Abrams (LOST, Felicity, Super 8, etc.) and we instantly loved it. We had the last 6 or so episodes of the fifth (and final) season saved on our DVR when we moved early this year but our cable company gave us a new box and our Fringe episodes disappeared to never to be seen again. UNTIL NOW. I've been dying to know how it all ends. Those pesky observers! Dustin has already read what happened on the interwebs but I wanted to SEE it. I need a final goodbye viewing party. The show flew under the radar for it's entire run but it doesn't make it any less fantastic.
Dustin and I are also trying out Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The first episode was pretty rough. The second was better. But so far I'm not hooked. I'm not dying to see the next episode. We are going to give it awhile longer but no promises.
Listening to: Maria fucking Mena. I downloaded her latest CD 'Weapon In Mind' last week and it's been on a constant rotation ever since. She is hands down my favorite singer. She never disappoints all these years later.
Side note: I'm sure I've mentioned this a thousand times before but it holds a great deal of meaning to me, so here I go again. I remember watching MTV in 2003/2004ish and watching an interview with Maria Mena on a subway in NYC. I had no idea who she was but she had just released her first single in the US and I loved it. So I drove up to Best Buy and bought the entire CD. Every song just spoke to my soul, as cheesy as that sounds. Her lyrics! Her voice! The melodies! She never really "made it" in the US but she's very popular in Europe and her home country of Norway. I have followed and enjoyed her music ever since that fateful interview. We were just meant to be.
You Make Me Feel Good
There's no point in fighting, our aim is the same.
A marriage where balance takes over the reins
A place where we both have individual minds
That melt into one clear thought once in awhile.
You're All Telling Stories
There are some people you'll know all your life.
A constant group that leave you feeling safe.
But I have learned that that some are there to change you,
Leave you wiser, rearranged but then are better left estranged.
All The Love
How can you call yourself a daughter?
You must have got it from your mother.
You're blaming her for damage, I blamed you for mine.
There must be something in the water.
Interesting
If I had the chance to go back in time
I'd tell a younger me to breathe, cause you'll be fine
Trust the path you're on and dream
Write down the words on your mind
On My Mind: Something happened this week that reminded me that nothing is permanent. Every moment, every routine, every person, every job...is temporary. I guess it can be bad or good depending on the situation. In good times it helps you really take it all in and be present; grateful. And during the bad times the whole notion can help you get through the day knowing that it won't always be like this.
Excited about: A LOT. But right this very second I'm super excited that Sam is back in town and that tonight we will be partying it up at our 10 year high school reunion. I'll post more on all of it but I'm excited to spend some quality time with her and some other people I haven't seen in years. It should be good times. She better bring me a corsage when she picks me up on our date.
