Concussed

I carried several board games back into our guest bedroom. I opened the closet door and lifted them on the shelf. The problem was there were too many and as I tried to push them in place, two games came  tumbling down. On my head. It took me a few seconds to understand what had just happened. I didn't even register the pain right away.

I yelled "Dustin! I have a concussion!" and then I fell on the bed. I wasn't even trying to be dramatic. I was in pain and dizzy and felt like I was about to vomit. The bed was the perfect place to lay down.

Dustin came in the room, sat down on the bed and looked down at me.

Dustin: Are you ok?

Me: No. I'm concussed.

Dustin: What happened?!

Me: Two games hit me on the head.

Dustin looked around and found 'mancala' and 'Words Against Humanity' laying on the floor at the scene of the accident.

Dustin: Out of all the games that could have fallen, the game made out of wood and rocks fell on you.

This made me laugh.

Dustin: Want an ice pack?

Me: Yes please.

Dustin came back into the room with our Death Star ice sphere.

Dustin: I brought you this ice cold Death Star to put on your head.

Me: Thanks. It's perfect since I'm seeing stars and close to death. (This WAS me being dramatic.)

I laid on the bed for a few minutes before Dustin helped me up. I am typing right now with a splitting headache. There is no blood but it feels as if my skull is split open. I have forgotten how painful getting hit in the head is. There's zero cushion. All bone and brain!

I just wanted to document the fact that I almost got knocked out by some board games. I feel like there is humor in that.

I'm going to go rest now.
