Blood Work with the Blood Jerk

Untitled

Yesterday morning I woke Dustin up at 6:45 on his day off. He had offered to go with me to get my blood work done weeks ago and the day had finally arrived. We got there 5 minutes early. 7:10 AM to be exact. I signed in and we sat down in those ugly blue chairs. Dustin caught up on hockey on his phone. I tried to read some blogs to distract myself as each person was slowly called back. After 30 minutes of nervously waiting, my name was finally called. I asked the guy "Is it OK if my husband comes back? I'm not good with this kind of stuff..." and he said "Yeah as long as he behaves himself". Whatever the hell that means. I really hate when I can't tell if people are trying to be funny or are just weird.

The guy had us wait in a very small room. I sat in the seat and Dustin stood next to the door. More waiting. Then it was finally my turn. I shifted in the seat with my heart pounding. The guy told me to uncross my legs and take my sweater off so I did. He asked which was the better arm for veins. I told him they both sucked. So he went with the left one. Tears started rolling down my face. I felt panicked. It was hard not to squirm around. I tried to take deep breaths but it came out like I was gasping for air. The guy kept saying things like "you've got to calm down", "you have to get over it", "it's all in your mind", "it's not like i'm cutting off your arm". I just wanted to scream at him FUCK YOU. I'm sure he meant well. I get that he's just trying to do his job and I wasn't making it easy on him. I get that. But when you choose to be in the medical field it should be mandatory to have some fucking compassion. Not everyone is good with needles. Or blood. Or whatever. We all have our little quirks. I totally agree that I needed to calm down. I WAS TRYING TO. I absolutely know it's a mental thing. It doesn't mean I can just wave a wand and it goes away. As he stuck me I started crying harder. He took the needle out because the vein was no good. He wrapped my arm as I told him I felt like I was going to pass out. Zero empathy from this man as he just looked at me. Thanks dude. Dustin was still next to the door because the room barely fit the 3 of us. I had hoped he'd be able to sit next to me and hold my hand or let me bury my face in his shoulder but the room was too small. So he just stood in the corner trying to talk me down from my panicked state. My faint feeling turned into nausea and I told the guy I was going to throw up. He let out an annoyed sigh and told Dustin to take me to the bathroom. So I "threw up" which was more of a dry heave since I had been fasting for 12 hours. There was nothing in my stomach but my body still went through the same motions. After 5 or so minutes in the bathroom I started feeling somewhat better. That's when Dustin took me to the water fountain. I could hear the guy say to Dustin "She should have drank a lot of water before coming..." as if that would have solved everything. Anyone who knows me at all knows I drink a ton of water on a daily basis, not just when I have some medical issue. After I drank EVEN MORE water I went back into the room for him to try again on my right arm.

At this point I was not only worn out and panicked but I was fucking pissed. I sat down and turned my head and grabbed a chunk of hair with my hand and closed my watery eyes. I don't remember exactly what I was thinking about but I just tried to focus on anything else. The guy was able to get blood out of my right arm pretty quickly. As he wrapped my arm up he made a comment about all of my tattoos assuming that it's the same thing. IT'S NOT. When you get tattooed you are there willingly, the needle is completely different and it isn't pulling anything out of your body it's putting something in. After that insensitive and naive comment he then went on about how there are people in hospitals who don't even know their blood is being drawn and how lucky I am that I get to walk out of here. Of course I know there are people struggling with way worse things than I ever have but that doesn't mean that I matter less. That doesn't mean that my phobia of blood work & my anxiety doesn't deserve acknowledgement. We all have stuff. Yes, to the outside world it may seem trivial, it may even be trivial but it's still real and it's still something we are struggling to overcome. He made me feel like I was some drama-loving little baby who just needed to suck it up. I absolutely wish I could walk in , sit down, get my blood drawn and walk out like the other people that I saw there that morning but I'm not. At least not right now.

I can't remember a time in my adult life where I've had a good experience giving blood. I've passed out or gotten sick every single time. But the difference with those times is the fact that the nurse was always extra nice. They'd get me ice and put it on my neck or bring me a cup of water. They'd have me lie down or even have another nurse come in and hold my hand while they drew my blood. Those are the things that help me get through it. All I need, all anyone needs is a little kindness and understanding.

I got through it as I always do. Dustin helped me walk to the car and he drove me home while I drank Gatorade (which I ended up spilling all over my shirt - HA!) and ate muffins in the passenger seat. He joked around with me and made fun of the asshole which made me laugh. Dustin has a way of always making me feel better no matter what. His humor gets me through life much of the time. I'm so thankful for him. We made it home and before I left for work I cleaned up my shirt and tried to pull myself together.

Thank you Sam for the many funny memes but especially this one.
Thank you Rachelle for this hilarious/cute video.
Thank you Katie for the hilariously inappropriate memes and adorable Piggybank photos.
Thank you Nicole for checking on me.
Thank you Dustin for everything, always.

Rant Rant Rave

Brand New
Last week I saw Brand New tweet out that they would have pre-sale tickets on sale for three different Florida shows. One of those Florida shows was for the HOB in Orlando. I immediately texted Dustin and he and I were both really excited. I went on the appropriate website for pre-sale tickets but it wasn't working and I was unable to get tickets. I was bummed but I knew I'd have another chance two days later when the tickets went on sale to the public. I logged on to the website 10 minutes in advance. As soon as the clock struck 12, I pounced. Again, the website kept messing up. It wouldn't let me select a quantity no matter how hard I tried. And I tried for almost my entire lunch break. No luck. Then Dustin thought to go on Stub Hub where he found TONS of tickets for $109+ thanks to asshole scalpers. I knew the show would sell out fast. I mean, I can't remember the last time they were in Florida especially Orlando. But in 10 seconds? No way. Scalpers really fucked over a lot of actual fans and it pisses me off. Brand New is one of a couple bands I've never seen live that I have been dying to see. It looks like I may never get that chance because I'm certainly not paying over a hundred dollars when the original price was $28 plus services fees. No fucking way. I was furious the day this happened. Livid! And Dustin was too. We both tweeted at Brand New and HOB several times. It obviously didn't change anything but at least we got to let off steam. I'm still annoyed by the situation but my anger is gone. I did everything within my power to get those tickets and still didn't succeed. Oh well. Such is life.

Cavities
Yesterday I went to the dentist to get four cavities filled. (Yeah, my teeth suck!) I've had countless cavities filled over the years and have never had any problems other than the fact I hate the needle aspect of novocain.

When I sat down in the chair and the dental assistant was going over my plan of treatment with me she asked me several times if I was sure I wanted to do all four cavities at the same time. Since two were on the right side and two were on the left side, the majority of my mouth would be numb. She also warned that I would have no control over my tongue. This all of course freaked me out but I agreed to it because I had to get them done in one go for various reasons. The dentist was very nice and calming and smelled great. I've always had male dentists and they never smelled like anything. But my new female dentist was wearing just enough perfume! Unnecessary details. Anyway, when she came at me with the needle I tensed up but remembered to just keep breathing through it. Most doctors assume that anyone with tattoos are fine with needles but that is very untrue. The needles are completely different for one thing and not only that but one I'm getting because I WANT to, the other I'm only doing because I HAVE to. Again, I'm getting sidetracked. She got through the novocain on both sides of my mouth and sat me up to wait for it to kick in. I was shaking from anxiety so I decided to text Dustin to help me get my mind off of it all. That of course helped me to calm down. The hard part was over...so I thought. My dentist starts working on the right side but while doing so hooks some weird contraption in my mouth. Side note: I just looked on google for 5 minutes for a picture to no avail.  The device was metal and it felt and looked like she was screwing it onto my teeth. Part of it was sticking out of my mouth. Internally I was freaking out. WHAT IS GOING ON? So I politely raised my hand and she stopped so I could ask what the device was for. She said it's only used for cavities that are in between teeth. Whew. That eased my mind a lot. So this was totally normal and I wasn't going to end up in a horrible Saw movie. Awesome. The next issue came when she was trying to remove it and dropped the pliers on my chin. Thankfully the handle was coated in rubber so it didn't really hurt. But it sure as hell surprised me causing me to jump. She moved onto my other side and near the end her dental assistant accidentally sprayed water down my throat causing me to choke. I immediately flung my body upright and coughed for a little while. Ugh! And then to top off my visit from hell it ended up costing $50 more than originally quoted. I questioned it but I was too drained to argue. Just take my money and let me go home! Unfortunately, my misery didn't exactly get any better once I got home. It was taking forever for the novocain to wear off. Dustin thought it was hilarious that I couldn't shut my mouth straight. He even made a video of it which I'm not exactly eager to post. Maybe I'll include it in my end of the year recap video. Ha! The numbness made it difficult to eat dinner but finally went away just as I was finishing. Hallelujah! But once I could feel everything again I noticed my bite was off on my left side. UGH!! AND THEN I was unable to floss between my teeth on the right side. It would shred my floss! Can I get a break or what?! No, I can't because on top of all of that my jaw is still sore from having my mouth open for an hour and a half yesterday. The good news is they are fixing my bite/floss issue on Monday so it's not a huge deal. Annoying yes, but it's getting worked out. I just needed to get out my frustration in blog form and now that I have I feel much better.

Free Weights
I've been going to a gym off and on for over a year now. I feel very comfortable on all the machines. I, however, do not feel comfortable using the free weights. I use them at home all of the time. I work from YouTube videos and Pinterest fitness posts. I just feel super self conscious doing my little free weight routine in front of other people. I feel like they are all just staring at me just waiting to tell me I'm doing something wrong. I told Dustin of this really stupid fear and he gave me a little pep talk. I knew I was being silly but his talk helped me overcome my fear. So the other day after my elliptical cardio workout I went over to those weights. I picked up two 5 pounders and did some dead lifts, squats, etc. It was totally fine as soon as I stopped caring what other people thought about me, assuming they even noticed I was there, which I doubt they did. I know it's a seemingly small thing but it really made me so proud of myself. Small victories!

Thrice the Rants

I've had a few rant-worthy topics on my mind recently and what better place to get it all out than right here.

SPOILERS
It annoys me to no end when people get mad about spoilers. I'm talking about mainly TV show spoilers. If I choose to DVR a show (for whatever reason) over watching it live then I fully accept and expect that I might see something on the internet, TV, or in an article referring to that specific episode. And I'm totally fine with that. That's what I chose so those are the consequences. I don't get angry about spoilers ever. I don't go looking for them but if I stumble upon them then OK. No big deal. But there is a group of individuals that we are all friends with on various social media that FREAK OUT. I mean the only way to not have a show spoiled is to watch it right when it comes on. Or stay off the internet until you watch it. It's that simple.

On the other side, I don't go tweeting or texting about pivotal plot points if I am watching a show live. But some people like to live tweet that kind of stuff and they have every right to. It's not like any of us are forced to follow someone on social media. I just don't get what all the huff and puff is about because EVEN if I know about a scene or event in a show before I watch it, it doesn't change my experience. If it's sad, I'll still cry. If it's crazy, I'll still be shocked - wide eyes and all. I still feel all the emotions and enjoy the story. But I guess that's just me.

This also applies to books (especially books that are turned into movies).

TEEN SPENDING
I read an article this week on MSN regarding what teenagers are expected to pay for once they start earning their own money. Read it here. I also read the comments of that article. It's been something on my mind ever since. No, I don't have children and I don't plan to. But I was a teenager once so I do feel like I can weigh in on the topic.

I was never forced to get a job by my parents. My dad told me if I wanted a car I would be responsible for the insurance and gas. That was plenty of incentive for me to start working. So I did. I got a job 4 months after turning 16. Then I got my car soon after. I paid for every single insurance payment and gas on my own. My dad helped out when there was a major repair but that was it. I didn't have a ton of extra money after my car expenses but any I did was mine to spend (or save) however I wanted. It usually went toward extra food (the stuff not in my house) or extra clothes (since I only ever got new clothes at the beginning of the school year and at Christmas). About a year later I got a cell phone that I paid for myself. I also was responsible for half of the bill since I had to be on my mom's plan. I always thought this was reasonable. It taught me that hard work pays off. It taught me how to budget. It taught me responsibility. My parents may have failed me in many ways but they got this one right. Sure it was tough but it really paid off. I appreciate the things MY money is able to buy even to this day.

I think it's ridiculous for parents to pay for cell phones (especially smart phones) after a teenager reaches 16 and is able to get a part-time job. I think it's even more ridiculous for a parent to pay car payments, car insurance, and gas for teens as well. And if for whatever reason they can't get a job then they should at the very least have a list of chores and a deadline to get them done. The whole point of parenting is to prepare these young people for the real world and being responsible and learning the value of money plays a huge part in life as an adult. Parents who pay for every little non-essential (cell phones and cars are not a necessity!) really do their kids a disservice.

I think I read in the comments of the article something along the lines of  "kids these days are so spoiled" and although I believe it's true, I also believe every generation has "spoiled kids". I remember going to the mall with people in middle school and their parents would give them multiple $20 bills. I remember knowing kids in high school that had their own credit card that their parents paid for. There will always be the kids who get everything for doing nothing. That's just life.

MERGE ASSHOLE
One of my biggest pet peeves is people who don't or won't merge correctly on the highway. I probably have damaged Dustin's ear drums because every day while I'm either driving to or from work while talking to him, I'm also yelling profanities at the idiot mergers.

Every morning I hop on the same ramp to get on I-4. And every morning I put my turn signal on immediately and merge into the next lane as soon as it's safe to do so. I know the lane ends therefore I try and get over right away. COMMON SENSE. Every other car likes to try and pass as many cars as they can before the lane ends which causes the cars in the lane they are merging into to slam on their brakes. This happens every fucking morning. It pisses me off that these people are so damn selfish. We are all trying to go where we need to as quickly and safely as possible. Why be a dick about it? Is passing 3 extra cars really going to make a difference? Is it worth almost causing an accident? NO NO NO.

I hate to pick on the Pumpkin Spice Latte BUT...

It's barely September and I have already seen a few of the same "pumpkin spice latte is back!" kind of posts pop up in various feeds. Yes, it's "fall". Yes, pumpkin everything is back. Yes, I love pumpkin shit too. But I don't need to see a picture of your drink. I know this sounds harsh but I only say it because I saw the same picture last year. And the year before that. It's been done. It's boring. Yawn. I mean, unless you're holding that Pump Spice Latte in front of Hogwarts or while tightrope walking, it's just annoying.

I'd like to think that I'm already a bit selective, particular if you will, of the trail I leave on 'Twinstabook'  but these recent Pumpkin posts have made me even more aware of what I have posted in the past and how I'd like to change my style for future postings. It's not that I'm trying to go out of my way to be the cool, original, hipster type, but it's more about quality over quantity.

I'm slowly learning that some weeks there is just nothing interesting for me to take a photo of. And... that's ok. In fact, that's totally fine. Life isn't always exciting and artsy. In the past, I would just try and find something to take a photo of so I could fill up my Instagram feed (all subconsciously of course) and now I realize how ridiculous that is. So what if I haven't posted in a few days, a week, etc. I rather post new, interesting photos (or words) than the recycled, carbon copy ones that everyone and their mom is putting up year after year.

Can we all band together and stop with the copy cat, boring as balls, annoying as aliens, posts? Unless something is truly interesting, or funny, or new then don't post anything at all. I know, we all feel the NEED to share but we don't HAVE to. And honestly less is more. Let's declutter our little areas on the internet, shall we?

What I'm Sick of Seeing:

-Posting a million pictures of the same person/thing (spouse, kids, YOURSELF, pets) on a daily basis. Pretty sure there are only so many angles you can take of a person before the internet gets sick of looking at them.

-Your daily routine. Stop with the "Starting the coffee", "Going to the grocery", "Off to the doctors", "About to hop in the shower" shit. OMG. These are infuriating to everyone who follows you AND you may not realize it but I'm pretty sure people have hidden all of your posts because of it.

-The feel-sorry-for-me/attention posts. We all have shit hit the fan once in awhile and even like to throw a good pity party every now and again but I suggest jotting it down in your diary or talking to a friend rather then sending it out to 300 people you used to know.

-The feet-at-the-beach photo. Or feet-by-the-pool. Or feet-by-the-slip-n-slide. We get it. Your feet are happy to be naked and in water.

-Duck face/too much skin/model wannabes. I'm sure everyone agrees that you look your best when you're smiling, covered up, acting like a regular ol' person.

-The daily gym posts/photos. You ran on a treadmill? Good for you. Here's a cookie!

-The braggy look-what-I-just-bought posts. Or the even more annoying braggy my-significant other-is-the-best posts. I know you're excited about your new whatever and you're in love with whomever but calm down.

-Your breakfast. AM Snack. Lunch. PM Snack. Dinner. Unless you are eating some crazy Andrew Zimmern type shit, no one cares.

I have sadly done almost all of these things. I admit it! I am not saying I am some perfect social media princess but I really would like to change my ways. My online persona is in need of a makeover and there is no time like the present.

There are of course exceptions to any rule but moderation is KEY and in my opinion most important. Just because you took the photo doesn't mean everyone needs to see it. If it's that important to you, save it on your hard drive or upload it to a private Flickr account.

What I'd Like to See More Of:

-Candid photos. You know the ones where your eyes are closed and you're laughing so hard you look like you're about to eat someone? Those. Posed pictures are fine but the ones you catch in the moment are awesome.

-Nature. No explanation needed.

-New experiences. First time at the Wizarding World? Snap that! First time catching a fish? Snap that!

-Creative. I like artsy fartsy stuff ok?! Get off my back. I just think the more original the better.

-Humor. I want to laugh while I scroll.

How to RSVP

When I receive an invitation, whether it be via USPS or Facebook, I have a whole process I follow. I'll admit that it makes me crazy that most people do not follow this same process.

1. Oh look, someone invited me to something! Awesome!
2. Read invite in it's entirety.
3. Pull out iPhone calendar to check if I'm available that day.
4. If I'm not, I let the person know I will not be able to attend.
5. If I am, I ask myself "Is this something I even WANT to go to?" (Don't go to something just because you feel obligated. Go because you want to be there.)
6. If it's not, I let the person know I will not be attending because of _______.
7. If I do, I let the person know I will be there with bells on. I mail back my reply. Or email party thrower. Or (the SIMPLEST of them all) click that little YES button on all of those Facebook invites.
8. Then I enter the activity to not only my iPhone calendar BUT my Harry Potter wall calendar that hangs in the kitchen as well.
9. If for any reason I can't make it after I already said I was going to be there, I immediately let the person know of the change of plans and apologize for any inconvenience. I rarely have to do this but life happens and sometimes something urgent comes up that requires your attention. And that's ok but tell the inviter!

I don't get what is so hard about any of this. It's the polite and considerate thing to let someone know if you are attending or not. Also, nowadays it's easier than ever to get in touch with someone (phone call, text, email, FaceTime, face-to-face, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Xbox, snail mail, etc). No excuses. I think it all boils down to manners. I don't care what year it is; manners will always be in style. No one is too cool when it comes to being polite. If someone is inviting you to something, they obviously enjoy your company and just blowing them off is downright rude.

So next time you receive an invite, no matter how casual the event, do them the courtesy of a reply. Manners people! Get some.

Triple Rant

Hermione's Birthday
Hermione's birthday is September 19th, 1979. Several sources state she was almost 12 when she started school at Hogwarts. So a few different HP facebook pages posted 'Happy 32nd Birthday Hermione'. I couldn't believe some of the replies. People were writing 'You mean 23, not 32 right?!'. I was outraged by this. First, of all - it's the character's birthday NOT Emma Watson. I know it may be silly to most people but this shit means a lot to me. I really thought HP fans did their research. I thought they did more than read the books and watch the movies.

Then there were the people that thought they understood which was even more annoying. They were commenting back "Don't you know they age 19 years at the end of Deathly Hallows?". Yes that is true BUT that has nothing to do with Hermione being 32. Because 18+19=37 NOT 32. Actually that epilogue scene is still in the future. The reason she's 32 is because J.K. Rowling got the idea for the book in 1990 and it has been said many times that Harry, Ron, & Hermione's first year at Hogwarts was in 1991.

So with that all cleared up, enjoy this video Mugglenet posted:

Lavender-Chamomille Plug-In Air Freshener
I always buy air fresheners. Usually I stick with scents like 'Crisp Breeze' or 'Fresh Linen' but the grocery store was out. So I picked up this Lavender scent and didn't even think twice about it. I plugged it in before I left for work one morning. Dustin got home before me and sent me an IM that read "It smells like an old person in here." So I told him to unplug it and just put it on the counter. It sat on the counter for days before I attempted to take it out of the plug and throw it away. When I finally did, it got all over both of my hands. This horrible old man cologne smell. It made me feel sick. I tried to wash it off with dish soap. Nope. Then antibacterial hand soap. Nothing. Then hand sanitizer. Still could smell it and I think it was actually getting worse. So I just decided (because I had no choice) - to deal with it. But then when I got in my car, cranked up the a/c and had my hands on the wheel (since that's a pretty important part of driving) the smell was so strong. The a/c was blowing the stench from my hands up my nose! The smell lasted all day long which meant I had a headache. All. Day. Long. I have already purchased 'Fresh Linen'. Now I can wipe my hands of this whole thing. I hope.

Facebook
This stupid social networking site gets worse with each update. I can't wait until Facebook is old news. I am convinced it will be forgotten about, just like MySpace was - hopefully soon.

Ron and the Closet Leak

I guess I should introduce Ron. He is a fairly decent sized black spider that first made an appearance a couple weeks ago. I was picking up some laundry off the floor of my closet and there he was. Just standing there minding his own business like he owned the place. My initial reaction was a small scream, immediately followed by a "DUSTIN!!" scream. Dustin grabbed a shoe and attempted to kill it. He hit him a few times and missed even more. Before we knew it, Ron made his escape under some furniture. Ever since then I am extra cautious while in my closet. I shake out every article of clothing before wearing it. I'm ridiculously paranoid.

Side note: Dustin named the spider Ron. Why? Well, when Dustin and I first started dating he had this old Thunderbird that he never really cleaned. One night while he was driving us around I felt something crawling on my leg. I flipped the fuck out. Screams. Kicks. I pulled my legs up and squatted on the seat until he pulled over. I jumped out of the car while he inspected the scene. Turns out it was a nice friendly little roach which was later named Ray. Now I can't remember why he got that name BUT I think Dustin just likes naming insects 'R' names. Lots of useless information there.

Anyway, back to the point.

I grabbed my sneakers this morning and brought them into the living room to put them on. I noticed the bottoms were wet. Like I just walked through a puddle kind of wet. I thought it was really strange so I went to investigate. In my closet I found a pair of jeans that had been on the floor were also drenched. The carpet was sopping. I looked up at the ceiling thinking we had some kind of roof leak. Nope, the ceiling looked fine. The walls looked fine but the floor was soaked. It's got to be coming from under...

I moved my hamper and some more shoes out of the closet and put a towel down with the thinking that it would absorb the water. It was the best I could do since it was time for me to leave for work. But then when I came back on my lunch break the towel felt like it had been dunked into a pool. That's when I hauled everything that was on the floor into the other bedroom. That's also when Ron made his second appearance. It just so happened I was on the phone with Dustin and gave him the play by play.

Me: OMG Ron is back!
Dustin: Kill 'em!
Me: I'm going to get a magazine. (SMACK! SMACK!)
Dustin: Did you get him?
Me: Yeah, twice but he just ran into my clothes.
Dustin: Are you sure you hit him?
Me: Yes I fucking hit him but he won't die.

So yeah, Ron is still on the loose.

I called our rental company the minute I got to work. They said they would contact the owner and get back to me. It's almost 9pm now and I still haven't heard from anyone. Ughh. And our guest bedroom has turned into a temporary closet which is driving me crazy because I can't find anything. Everything on a hanger is draped over the bed. Everything else is scattered on the floor. I really hate when things aren't in their place. Organization and I are serious buds so this is really killing me.

Random Pet Peeve

Kids at the movies.

I don't know how Dustin and I always end up stuck in theaters with babies/young kids but we do. And it's annoying. The crying, the high pitch squeals, the constant talking = ruining my movie experience. Not cool people!

When I go see a movie that I'm paying practically $10 a ticket for, I want to be able to enjoy it. I want to sit back and relax. I want to take it in completely. You know what I don't want? I don't want to give dirty looks to the parents who brought a 6 month old baby to the movies and just sit there while their baby screams. I don't want to miss what's going on in the movie because the little kid behind me keeps asking a million questions.

Dustin and I have recently seen Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows PII, Captain America, X-Men First Class, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Super 8, etc. You want to know what all these movies have in common? They are all rated PG-13. And yes I even checked on Fandango. We are not going to movies that are rated G where I would expect to see children. I don't even remember the last time Dustin and I saw a G rated movie in the theaters just for this reason. We much rather enjoy it later on when it comes out on DVD in the quiet of our own home.

What is the deal? Why bring a 3 year old to see any of the movies I listed above? Sure, maybe some have super heroes in them BUT I wouldn't say any of them are for young children. So basically it comes down to parents being selfish. It just seems that they want to see this movie so bad they don't stop and think of how a whiny or loud or obnoxious kid can really mess up a movie for everyone else.

Dustin and I don't have children yet (and possibly never will) because right now we realize how big a sacrifice it is. I see it as giving up my freedom. Giving up my trips to the movies. I'm not ready for that so we don't have any. If we did, I GUARANTEE that child wouldn't see a movie in the theater until it was 5.

Hey parents, I don't hate your kid but please do all of us movie go-ers a courtesy and leave the little ones with a sitter. No sitter? Please look into netflix.
