I hate to pick on the Pumpkin Spice Latte BUT...

It's barely September and I have already seen a few of the same "pumpkin spice latte is back!" kind of posts pop up in various feeds. Yes, it's "fall". Yes, pumpkin everything is back. Yes, I love pumpkin shit too. But I don't need to see a picture of your drink. I know this sounds harsh but I only say it because I saw the same picture last year. And the year before that. It's been done. It's boring. Yawn. I mean, unless you're holding that Pump Spice Latte in front of Hogwarts or while tightrope walking, it's just annoying.

I'd like to think that I'm already a bit selective, particular if you will, of the trail I leave on 'Twinstabook'  but these recent Pumpkin posts have made me even more aware of what I have posted in the past and how I'd like to change my style for future postings. It's not that I'm trying to go out of my way to be the cool, original, hipster type, but it's more about quality over quantity.

I'm slowly learning that some weeks there is just nothing interesting for me to take a photo of. And... that's ok. In fact, that's totally fine. Life isn't always exciting and artsy. In the past, I would just try and find something to take a photo of so I could fill up my Instagram feed (all subconsciously of course) and now I realize how ridiculous that is. So what if I haven't posted in a few days, a week, etc. I rather post new, interesting photos (or words) than the recycled, carbon copy ones that everyone and their mom is putting up year after year.

Can we all band together and stop with the copy cat, boring as balls, annoying as aliens, posts? Unless something is truly interesting, or funny, or new then don't post anything at all. I know, we all feel the NEED to share but we don't HAVE to. And honestly less is more. Let's declutter our little areas on the internet, shall we?

What I'm Sick of Seeing:

-Posting a million pictures of the same person/thing (spouse, kids, YOURSELF, pets) on a daily basis. Pretty sure there are only so many angles you can take of a person before the internet gets sick of looking at them.

-Your daily routine. Stop with the "Starting the coffee", "Going to the grocery", "Off to the doctors", "About to hop in the shower" shit. OMG. These are infuriating to everyone who follows you AND you may not realize it but I'm pretty sure people have hidden all of your posts because of it.

-The feel-sorry-for-me/attention posts. We all have shit hit the fan once in awhile and even like to throw a good pity party every now and again but I suggest jotting it down in your diary or talking to a friend rather then sending it out to 300 people you used to know.

-The feet-at-the-beach photo. Or feet-by-the-pool. Or feet-by-the-slip-n-slide. We get it. Your feet are happy to be naked and in water.

-Duck face/too much skin/model wannabes. I'm sure everyone agrees that you look your best when you're smiling, covered up, acting like a regular ol' person.

-The daily gym posts/photos. You ran on a treadmill? Good for you. Here's a cookie!

-The braggy look-what-I-just-bought posts. Or the even more annoying braggy my-significant other-is-the-best posts. I know you're excited about your new whatever and you're in love with whomever but calm down.

-Your breakfast. AM Snack. Lunch. PM Snack. Dinner. Unless you are eating some crazy Andrew Zimmern type shit, no one cares.

I have sadly done almost all of these things. I admit it! I am not saying I am some perfect social media princess but I really would like to change my ways. My online persona is in need of a makeover and there is no time like the present.

There are of course exceptions to any rule but moderation is KEY and in my opinion most important. Just because you took the photo doesn't mean everyone needs to see it. If it's that important to you, save it on your hard drive or upload it to a private Flickr account.

What I'd Like to See More Of:

-Candid photos. You know the ones where your eyes are closed and you're laughing so hard you look like you're about to eat someone? Those. Posed pictures are fine but the ones you catch in the moment are awesome.

-Nature. No explanation needed.

-New experiences. First time at the Wizarding World? Snap that! First time catching a fish? Snap that!

-Creative. I like artsy fartsy stuff ok?! Get off my back. I just think the more original the better.

-Humor. I want to laugh while I scroll.
