40 in 40 - Day 26 / Inner Body-ody-ody-ody

ashmaf890

The more I age the more I become bitter as hell about the fact that women's bodies are constantly changing and ruining our damn lives all while men just get to live out theirs from birth until death.

I got my period at 11. I had to worry about bleeding on my favorite pants while these doofs worried about their next fart joke.

Then in high school a fibroid tumor the size of a fist grew in my uterus causing insanely horrific periods, anemia, and within a week a whole ass operation to have it removed.

Days before my high school graduation I had a cyst burst (the first of many) on my ovary which was very painful. So much so, I didn't even want to go to my graduation. But I did, in pain, because that's what women do. We continue on through all the bullshit and the patriarchy claim we're the weaker sex? Pfft. Speaking of patriarchy, can yinz shut the hell up about hymens and virginity in reference to girls and women. It's a social construct.

And then there is the whole having a baby thing which you all know my feelings on. Absolutely not. My body has been through enough, I ain't about to grow a whole ass human only for it to hate me in 16 years.

I didn't hear about perimenopause until 2 years ago. I'm still pissed about that. Why aren't we taught this shit? Why aren't our parents, our mothers especially, talking to us? Why aren't doctors talking to their patients? Why aren't women talking to other women? You bet your ass I have been. As much as I've been excited about this next phase in my life peri and actual menopause are things I am not looking forward to AT ALL. I can't wait to deal with hot flashes, sleep problems (already there!), mood changes, vaginal and bladder issues, loss of bone, and changing cholesterol. Sounds like a real fucking party!

I've had my first mammogram scheduled for 6 months (days after my birthday) because us women have to be on top of it all and breast cancer is very real. It's always something with us! ALWAYS. SOMETHING.

Women are dealing with their bodies constantly changing (and not to mention all the related costs!) and meanwhile there is far too large a group of men who don't even know a woman has three holes. I'm serious. I've seen several tik toks. It blows my mind every time. Please enjoy the receipts below and maybe learn a thing or two about women's bodies.
