30 Day Writing Challenge: Seven

Day Seven
What Tattoos You Have and If They Have Meaning

1. Butterfly (right lower back) - This was my first tattoo and I originally wanted a dragon fly but couldn't find one I liked (clearly I was bad at internet research) so I went with the butterfly. I got it on my 18th birthday with a whole group of people in tow. I got it because I wanted a tattoo to be honest but also I felt like I was finally moving into my adult chapter of life and wanted to mark it permanently.

2. Star (left foot) - No meaning at all. Just liked the way it looked.

3. Squiggle design (right wrist) - No meaning. Just was a cool design and had a night out with my lady frands and decided to get inked.

4. Envelope (right forearm) - I love snail mail.

5. Harry Potter chapter art (right bicep) - My favorite book series. Also it means a lot to me because my grandma was the one who gave me The Sorcerer's Stone which started it all.

6. Cheeto and Olive (back of right and left arms) - I became a cat lady hard and fast and it's all because of my two little kittiots. I'm sure I'll have more cats in the future but it all started with them.

7.  BFF in Morse Code (back of left ankle) - Matching tattoo with my best, Katie!

8. Anatomical heart with flowers (left shoulder) - This was a cover up. I've always liked Dustin's anatomical heart tattoo so when I found an art piece of a similar one but with flowers I tucked it away as a tattoo idea for years before finally getting it done.

9. Shamrock (left hip) - I got this right before my first anniversary with Dustin to symbolize our anniversary (St. Patrick's Day 2005) which was my favorite day ever. But then the meaning grew even more over time when Dustin proposed on the same day (2009) years later and we eventually got married on the same day a year after that (2010). When you know you know.

10. Felicity (inner right arm) - It's my favorite TV show ever.

11. "Nevertheless She Persisted" (left forearm) - This is my most therapeutic tattoo after going through a horrific 2018. I wrote about it more here.

12. Arrow (left wrist) - It symbolizes going your own way, "following your own arrow".
