Miranda, Cash, and Melissa came over again to see us off. We all congregated in the kitchen at the table and had our last conversation together until who knows when. Even a flock of turkeys (are a group of turkeys called flocks? According to THIS website they are a rafter or gang of turkeys.), excuse me, a gang of turkeys said farewell as we were pulling out of the neighborhood.

We turned in our rental car, dropped off the postcards in the USPS box inside the airport, and got our tickets. The line for security was going through a change up and felt like it took forever. This time around I was the one who had to go through the heavy duty metal detector where I had to put my hands on top of my head and all that shit.
We both got food because we were obviously hungry and needed to kill time. Then we looked around in a Steelers store. Everything was crazily priced though so we didn't end up buying anything. We went next door and bought a Pittsburgh magnet, Reeses Pieces and I got magazine for the flight.
The flight was fairly calm even with all the wind and rain we had to go through. I was worried we might be delayed but we took off on time and landed back in gorgeous, sunny Florida around 2:30PM. Dustin kept pointing out things on the coast as we kept getting lower and lower. He swears he saw the Flagler Pier. My grip on his arm kept tightening. Once the plane came to a stop I started to breathe again. Ha! The guy next to me this time around said jokingly "Not good with the landing huh?". I replied with a laugh "How could you tell?". The flight attendant said over the intercom "Welcome to Atlanta, home of the undefeated Falcons". We all looked around like WTF. This is Orlando, where there are zero good sports teams, but home to Mickey Mouse. She corrected herself but still.
We rode the shuttle back to our car and I didn't feel sick this time around. Hooray! I don't remember the driver's name but he had a pony tail and drove so smooth. He deserved a high five.

I was so happy to be back in Florida. I mean, our vacation was a blast but I was starting to get homesick. It's nice to be back in a familiar place, on familiar roads, in my own bed, enjoying daily routines. It's always those little things you seem take for granted when you're away.
We've been asked quite a bit by several different people if we would ever consider moving to Pittsburgh or the surrounding area. I immediately say "NO!" but never say never right? I'm not a fan of the cold weather and driving in the snow kind of terrifies me. The roads are very windy and you when you go up hill you can't see the other side until you start going down. I'm not saying we'll stay in Orlando forever but I do love me some Florida. It's where all the important people in our life are. It's where are jobs are. And for now, it's our home. I'm not going to try and predict the future. What will come will come.
We hope to be back in Pittsburgh as soon as vacation time at work and finances allow. I'm hoping our next vacation is more tropical though. We're shooting for a cruise around our anniversary.
On our way home from the airport we stopped at Steak-N-Shake since we knew we had absolutely nothing in our fridge. As we pay for our food, this bird Bud just hops on the hood of my car. Not only that but he stays on the hood until I pull out of the parking lot. So strange.
Bane was still alive when we walked in the door, thanks to Sam and Pat feeding him while we were away. UNLESS they just bought a new betta and we haven't been very observant.
