Vote!

Nothing makes me feel older than realizing I just voted in my THIRD Presidential Election. I remember registering to vote in my Senior English class when I was only 17. That was 10 years ago. I also remember waiting for hours in a line that wrapped around the Public Library with my mom, to vote for the very first time. The second time I was with Dustin, in Palm Coast. This time around I was back at a (different) library, with Dustin. We figured we'd go on Halloween in hopes most people would be preparing to take their kids trick-or-treating. We got right in. VOTED. Got a cool sticker and were on our way. It was such an easy process. I definitely recommend going early if at all possible. But just voting period is what's really important. I don't get people who don't vote at all. In fact, those people kind of piss me off. Sure, it's your right to do whatever you want but you get to have a say. Why wouldn't you take advantage of that?

Dustin and I have been watching Boardwalk Empire and just finished season one. I know most of the show is fiction but they touch on a lot of historical events. One of them being women's suffrage. There was an episode that showed women waiting in line FOR THE FIRST TIME to vote. It really struck a chord. We haven't always been able to do this. Women (and men) fought hard for us to be able to do so. So I'm proud to say that I have voted in every single election I've been able to since turning 18.

Fuck yeah, America!
