Home Tour: Our Bedroom

We moved into our current residence back in late January. And ever since then I have been wanting to do the very cliche home tour that I have seen done by so many bloggers before me (and I never get tired of them so keep 'em coming). But every time I would go to take some pictures I would realize something was still missing which begs the question: Is a house ever completely 'done'? I'm starting to think not.

Right now the only room that feels complete (well, the most complete) is our bedroom. This is kind of funny to me because I have always put our bedroom last. I'm glad I have subconsciously moved it up on my priority list.

Dustin just suggested I treat this like 'MTV Cribs' and say something along the lines of "this is where the magic happens..." HA!

Please excuse our wrinkly bed. Dustin kept jumping on it, in between photos, because according to him it looked so nice that he "couldn't help himself." I just shook my head and gave him THE LOOK. Then he smiled really wide and I laughed because who the fuck cares. It's a bed. And I agree that bed jumping is fun. So wrinkle on jumpers. Wrinkle on.

I really love the blinds. They are a million times better than those flimsy mini blinds that most places come with. And yes that is a DVD/VHS player on the floor. I've had it since Dustin and I first started dating. I remember going to Walmart and buying it together and everything. Still works! Also, it's nice to have a VHS player for all the old home videos that I have not yet gotten transferred to DVDs.

One thing I hate about nightstand shots are that they usually have one or two items on it and that's it. That is not real life. I usually have way more shit on my side (crumpled receipts, several glasses of water, hair ties, and my retainer! Yeah I know, ew. I didn't think the internet could handle that so I hid it away. YOU'RE WELCOME.) I always have books on my nightstand although the Kindle has kept me much more organized in recent days in that regard. I've had that candle for probably 10 years. I love the scent so much that I might just keep it forever. Go ahead and call me a hoarder. I don't mind. That little kid in the baseball uniform is Dustin. I think it's the sweetest, so I keep it where I can see it all of the time.

Dustin has a little less going on on his side. He has always displayed his little Steelers helmet piggy bank on his side for as long as I can remember. It matches nicely with the flameless Steelers candle he got as a gift last Christmas from my Aunt. He may not be King of the Iron Throne but he is most certainly King of the Remotes. Clearly.

We both lay our phones in their "beds" aka their original packaging when we sleep. I'm not sure if anyone else does this or maybe we are just extra nerdy but we love it.

Our nightstands are those cheapo beepo tables from Ikea. I would eventually like to get sturdier ones (with drawers) for each of us! But that's a little ways off so I'm not too worried about it. I'm also not loving that the lamps are so matchy matchy. I'm still deciding if I want to paint them different colors or just buy two different lamps for each of us. It's an easy fix either way.

For now though, I'm just going to lay back and enjoy it.
