I was lucky enough to have last Friday off. 4 day weekend what up! And it turned out that Rachelle and Matt also had the day off. So we made plans weeks back to meet up at Dixie Crossroads for some good ol' rock shrimp, corn fritters and of course each other's company. We always treat this trip like it is it's own little holiday because we only make it over there once a year.

After dinner, on a whim, we all decided to drive down to Cocoa Beach to hit up Ron Jon Surf Shop. I can't even remember the last time I've been to Cocoa or if I'd ever even been at all. I might have gone as a kid but I don't remember. I definitely didn't go as a teen. So as far as I can tell, I was experiencing Cocoa for the first time. What a little adventure. First of all, what's up with all of the huge bridges?! I'm used to the bridges in Daytona. Or St. Augustine. No big deal. But the ones in Cocoa felt a million times steeper and longer. I wasn't the only one. Rachelle was freaked out too! Dustin and Matt were just laughing at us from the back seat. Typical.
Ron Jon's is huge. I guess they don't call it "World's Largest" for nothing. (DUH!) We zig zagged all over the store, making sure we saw it all. So many hats, clothes, bathing suits, sunglasses, surf boards, and tons of touristy stuff. It was a lot of fun! I'm really looking forward to editing the video - HA! I'll post it later this week.
We walked next door to another surf store. It had all the same kind of stuff as Ron Jon's but with a more run down feel. The only reason we initially were even interested in checking it out is because we saw the bright green Starbucks sign on the outside of the building. They did have a cool little aquarium going on though - with the creepiest of eels. More like eek! And then we had to walk THROUGH a restaurant just to get to this damn Starbucks. The barista was extra cheery and funny. His sense of humor even poured over into our cups...GET IT?! No? Yeah, nevermind. At first we thought he just spelled Rachelle's name wrong (she gets that a lot) but then I saw my cup and I was like I GET IT. Also, they gave me CHOCOLATE WHIP! It was on accident but I told them I'd drink it as is. I never knew chocolate whip existed! It's the little things, am I right?
As we pulled out of the parking lot a bright burst of fireworks appeared over the building directly in front of us and they continued to sparkle in the distance most of the way back to Titusville.
Such a perfect night for a summer adventure.
